Clements Probable for Miami

Standing in sideline gear on Sunday at Candlestick on Sunday was a first for cornerback Nate Clements, who had never before missed a game in his eight-year NFL career.

After having a pin pulled out from his broken thumb earlier on Wednesday, it looks like it’ll be his last as Clements is probable for Sunday.

“It was tough being out, but it wasn’t ready,” said Clements. “I’m excited to get back out there and help my team this week.”

Clements has had considerable success against the Dolphins in the past. In all but his rookie year with the Bills, he notched at least one interception in his six seasons going against the Dolphins. His highest yearly interception total at the expense of the Dolphins came in 2002 when he intercepted the ball four times in the divisional series, including a three-interception day in a Bills road game against Miami on October 20. In all, nine of Clements’ 29 career interceptions have come against the Dolphins.

“I have had some of my better games against the Dolphins, although they aren’t turning the ball over too much this year. As a defense, it’s our job to try and force them into making those kind of mistakes.”

Well, after all we did have QB's with high school talent throwing the ball at those times.. its doubtful Penny will throw a pick here.

Lee Evans-
game 1: 7 receptions, 116 yards
game 2: 3 receptions, 23 yards

u guys do no that ernest wilford, louska polite, ricky williams, both tight ends, and ronnie brown had more catches last week than our #1 reciever ted ginn?

after his 7 reception, 175 yard performance against the bills earlier this year...

i hope he gets the ball more on sunday vs the 49ers!

LOL their 2nd best defensive player didnt play against the jets and they still lost

lol, its alrite u didnt need to write his stats for me, i knew them, the point i was just trying to make was that this team is new and the enviornment is totally diffrent so someone like nate clements who killed us in the past, can be like someone like lee evans who has killed us in the past, but this year was pretty much a non factor. thanks anyway though for the stats.

If he is out well have Brown, Tarell and Strickland, Donald in his spot like we did last week vs the Jets..

Clements is the man, I would be a load off the mind to not have to watch him on that field.

Glad we don't have to see him 2x a year anymore.
But DANG, Buffalo is a secondary drafting/developing machine. Hit another gem this year.

Some of you guys love to suffer. Pleae dont remind me of that game against Buffalo. The statistic we have to find is how many INTs has Pennington thrown this guys way.

Im not worried about Clements at all this year. He's done nothing all season, and his hand will definately be a factor when it comes to wrapping up in tackles.

Our offence has faced good DB all season.. Clements only has 2 INTs against our OLD squads... not this one.. not with Pennington.

I don't care who the 9ers line up on their side of the ball.. We've got gamers to run with anyone in the NFL..

They should be worried about US.. more that us worried about THEM!

I'm from the bay area and Clements has been getting beat all year. No joke

You don't have a setting pin pulled from your thumb and have your game of the season . Sure he can get it numbbed-up but it still won't function well.

Although it would be better if he was out, there is certainly no reason to panic.

The reason this guy killed us each game was because he was Jay Fiedler's favorite receiver. As far as I know Pennington's is Bess.
