The agents of Miami's two remaining restricted free agents -- quarterback Cleo Lemon and safety Yeremiah Bell -- both said it is highly unlike either will be presented with an offer sheet from another team before today's 4 p.m. deadline.
However, agent Drew Rosenhaus said Bell also wouldn't be in any rush to sign his second-round tender worth $1.3 million next season. Instead, talks could begin about a longer-term deal than the one-year duration of the current tender.
Lemon's agent, John Rickert, said his client was more likely to sign the same second-round tender, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent after next season.
Rickert said he has been in negotiations with the Dolphins about a potential extension, but a more lucrative deal could become available after this season.

i cant see us offering cleo much of a contract beyond this year. if we draft a rookie and we get green, i cant see us having much use for cleo after this year. cleo should be the back up this year. but next year the rookie either moves up to back up or starter. if he moves to starter then green would go to backup. cleo would be making to much money plus he wouldnt be happy being third string.
i think this will be cleos last year with us unless he becomes the starter and plays at a high level

Yea Cleo keep waiting on that lucrative deal.

To all those who feel Cleo should be given a chance to be the starter; if he had that much talent there would be several teams willing to give up a 2nd rounder for him.

What that says to me, only one more year of man love for Cleo Lemon.

I better chime in here about my fellow kentuckian, I hope Bell gets a nice contract extension. I wish they would sell some of his jerseys!!

Cleo is here for 1 more year I believe!

If Bell holds out because Drew is his agent and I believe this makes it possible then I don't see him returning!

ok if we lose Cleo...whos our QB???? he if someone offered us a 4th for him...id take it. id take a 4th for Yeremiah Bell too. stack up on picks, baby!

Glad to see people are coming to their senses on this finally.

Since when?? There are several cases of players having average if not below average careers with one team and moving to another and being very successful. Trent Green, Rich Gannon just to name a couple. As it stands Daunte's knee being what it is....and I stress we know nothing offically about his situation, Cleo has the tools and knowledge to run Cams system. Unless Daunte returns to full health we won't be a playoff team next year unless we have a lot of luck, so why not give Lemon a shot to compete, draft a QB and wait for Trent Greens release. Give Green a chance to win the Job and between him and Lemon we should have a one year solutionm at QB.

Between Cam calling the plays, Lemon/ Green at the QB position, that's an upgrade form last year right there. Add a LT and LG and the return of Ricky and we have improved quite a bit. Enough to make a playoff run? I doubt it, but it's a start. I can live with another losing season as long as I don't see the Defense regress and I see the Offense improve.

I guess Lemon sees that Cam and Shea are handpicking their QB and he is not the one. If Cam feels that Trent is the answer so be it. I think he's having to try to please fans also. He has to start either Green or Quinn or someone like them.
