Cliff Russell

The dudes a bum, just like you.

Mod Edit: This was quite uncalled for. Please don't do it again. nj

The Miami Herald says he is only signed until Game Day and Then will be let go... So I am wondering why even sign him???
---

The Dolphins signed wide receiver Cliff Russell and defensive tackle Josh Shaw to the 53-man roster. The team had an opening after trading running back Jesse Chatman to New Orleans on Tuesday and releasing defensive tackle Tim McGill. In addition, running back Ricky Williams is still on the exempt list. Once he is activated for the game Sunday, Russell will be let go, Saban indicated.

I read Russell had been on Miami's radar for awhile now, so I did some searching. I apologize if this has been posted. Here is Russell's draft bio. Taken #87 in the third round by Washington out of Utah.

What do you guys think? Sounds like he can stretch the field in a hurry.

Just about anyone we pick up between now and the end of the season is not going to have much impact on the team this year. Next year may be different. The exception to that may be some sort of blockbuster type trade, but that looks is very unlikely.

They probably want to see what he can do, and if Boston status doesnt improve they may keep this guy. He was a 2nd team all american and has plenty of speed to stretch the field so who knows..he may make the team after all.

How do your enemies treat you??? :rofl3: :rofl3:

I remember Russell a bit in Washington. Drafted by Spurrier...has amazing speed, but not much else. Hurt in his first year, came back and Spurrier really did have high hopes for him but nothing materialized.

When a wide receiver has something approaching "it" you usually know and can see it. Cliff hasn't shown it. But, you know Mueller loves the speedsters.

After reading his draft info, he sounds a lot like one Chris Chambers.

I remember reading about him in the pre-draft profiles a few years ago. Another unpolished guy with blazing speed. Hasnt put it togather yet, though.:nono:
