The intriguing thing about how these teams might match up in the future is that the Patriots are good enough to recognize a threat when they see one.

New England coach Bill Belichick is friends with Saban and knew the hiring would present problems.

''We knew it when he went there that he was going to make them a powerful team and a force in the league and a force in this division,'' Belichick said. ``He already has. That's no surprise to me, believe me.''

This was in the miami herald today. If somone else has posted this i apologize ahead of time. I cannot wait until this team is a force in the league again. That last statement by Belichick gives me the chills!!!!! my prediction for this weekend...21-17 Miami

Great post. It indeed is going to be a hard fought battle. We're riding some major momentum and the team's going to do everything in their power to make sure it rides into next season.

Not only that, but I think we're gonna be looking for some vindication after they beat us in Miami. We were only 5 yards away from winning that game! If we would've rushed the ball instead of passing, we probably would've pulled it out and been battling for the division title this week.

Even more reason for the team to be fired up for this week's finale. My prediction.....24-23 as Olindo kicks the game winner for us in the last minute of the game.

Better make that thelast SECOND of the game for Mare's kick. If anytime is left on the clock, I am sure Brady and Co. will be able to find some jerk WR on Reggie Hoaward one on one to beat us again.

God I hate Reggie Howard. :fire:

yah i wish we could have some of those games back. I just love the Saban BB matchups we will see in the future, I think BB knows his time to shine is about over and is not really wanting to pass over the torch just yet. our offense looked pretty rusty in those early games, but it looks pretty smooth these days. The weather is not supposed to be too bad either. If we win, going out on a six game win streak, heck i dont even know if i can remember the last time we have done that, let alone to end offf a season! beat the pats

yah howard can hit the road, i like the youth of our secondary though, with daniels, poole, bell, and anyone we draft this year, which im sure saban will address.

Bill Belichick always praises who ever he's about to play. I think it's some kinda mind trick he's developed.

Remember before the first pats game, he went to the press about how Ronnie is the next Tomilson? Screw Bill Belichick.

It just goes along with what Bill B said earlier in the season and what his late father(rip) had to say....Bill B was glad his friend Nick got his shot in the nfl...He just wishes it wasnt with the Dolphins. It was probably not a good Day in Patriotland (front office) when Wanny went bye-bye and we got to say hi NICK!

yah i do remember that actually, hmmm. still i think its alll praise to his friend...no backstabbing/games from these 2 coaches...they know how good each other are

I agree ASU, they are friends who don't have to blow smoke up each others bum, the respect has been earned and the friendship genuine.

Great, a thread about Saban finally getting some respect, and you've got to trash him for making some incredibly dumb decisions against the Pats. Maybe the Fins lost b/c Belichick is a great coach, and the Pats are still the better team? :jawdrop:

pats are definitly the better team, they were then and they are now. but that doesnt mean they will be next year and so on. GO Dolphins
