Clowney to Seahawks

I was intrigued by Clowney, of course, but at the end of the day I have no interest in any football player who has no interest in the Miami Dolphins. Above all, I'm just excited that we didn't do the unthinkable which is moving Tunsil.

Good for him. It's a great fit. Russ is my guy so I hope it works out for them.

I'm glad we didn't lose Tunsil, and Clowney is still very much a projection at this point because he hasn't consistently produced (injuries, etc.). But, I'm still glad we pursued him, because this team has a huge hole at pass rusher, and the Clowney talks underline that we realize it.

I feel better. Don't know why?:ponder:
I think you feel better because you know in your bones that Clowney will underachieve in Seattle and would have not been a wise investment for Miami. Tunsil was being talked about, GTFOH!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're going to extend Tunsil not trade him. This is a sign that the FO is wising up and no longer are we the NFL's fools. Let Clowney disappoint elsewhere. Don't get me wrong. I know Clowney at his best is a game changing player but I think his highlight plays will NEVER be worth his huge contract and negative effect in the locker room. We were smart to stay away!

Unsound long term investment IMO.

Beyond that -- yeah an excellent player but NOT an elite edge rusher.

Just think the obscene $$$ would have fundamentally violated our new directive.

Pay Tunsil. Maintain cap discipline. And stay the course with young upsides...

Well that was a fun few days.

Shame as he would have been a great addition, but if the only way was giving up Tunsil then I'm glad it didn't happen.

Laremy Tunsil is a bigger winner this week.

The last time he was the talk of the national sports media, it was for the wrong reasons.

This time it was to dissect his sky high trade value.

He gained leverage this week on his contract negotiations.

I didn't think of it that way good point sir

Nasty, I was very concerned about the lack of big impressive sack numbers so far in the NFL. We weren't buying a proven NFL sack master. Also, he didn't want to be here and my sense is that he's a me first player. We're trying to build something here that is lasting. There aren't short cuts for what we're trying to do. We're doing a lot of the right things!! If we signed Clowney we would have looked like clowns before long!

So Glad that Oft-Injured/Over-Hyped/Crybaby is Someone Else's Problem. I was never on board bringing Him here in the first place. Especially as a 1 Year Rental, and having Him Demand #1 money. I'm ecstatic knowing that We have a Top 3 Tackle in Tunsil. Now Our Brass needs to Lock Him Up for the Next 5 Years!!!
