Remember during last season when everyone kept complaining ESPN hated the Dolphins? Now ESPN is giving us much love, but I have been thinking CNNSI is hating on the phins big time. I don't chime in during the big discussions of their articles, but each one from them has been sort of negative, and downright illogical at times.

How is Dan Marino not on there? When Ben Roethlisberger was in his rookie season, people kept mentioning that no other rookie QB has really had a good year except Marino. I know Marino didn't start until what, the sixth game? But how did some of these players edge out Dan? Tell me if I'm being irrational. Add to that I freaking can't stand Shockey, and he makes it into the list.

That is ******ed. SI seems to have some sort of hard on for the Dolphins.

Edit: Sorry, didn't know I couldn't use that word.

Heres a little bit of irony:

Their top picked impact rookie, Randy Moss (:sidelol:), of course played with the Minnesota Vikings.

His rookie season, 1998, they went 15-1, guess who was on the roster then?

That is one the biggest bs of a list as I have ever seen. Not only is Marino not on the list but the rookie that (argueably) had the best year of anyone, Gayle Sayers, wasn't listed. That alone makes the list not worth reading again.

I'm not sure that's the phrase you want to use. ;-)

Marino not being there is ridiculous. Ben was very good, but he merely managed games. Dan took them over.

Whether that's the phrase he wanted to use or not, they sure seem bent on sticking it to the phins lol.

Is there a place that you can write them and tell them what a gigantic "oversight" that was, or just to say they're a bunch of braindead cretins?

I've always felt that Sports Illustrated has been fairly anti-Dolphins. Not overtly, they just kind of subtly pick at them. I think it may go back to that now infamous SI cover with Csonka and Kiick where somehow, someone missed that Larry Csonka was flipping the bird.

I've also always sort of felt that John Madden is kind of anti-Dolphins, which would make a good deal of sense given his history. I just remember at the end of the 90's and at the beginning of this decade Miami would go 10-6, make the playoffs and the following year be a 77 overall. Then a couple years ago we were a 90-something and we went 4-12 and I have a feeling we're not getting any love again.

WOW. What a joke that Marino isn't on there. He had the best rookie season of any QB, the toughest position in sports, in history. PERIOD. I think he should be #1 on the list. And that isn't homerism talking.

Actually, Roethlisberger was better.

Marino had more TDs, but Roffleburgers had a higher completion percentage and more yards than Marino did.

ESPN had him as 8th of all time, with some good info.

Marino didn't make his first pro start until Game 6, but what a debut it was: he completed 19 of 29 passes for 322 yards and 3 TDs in a thrilling 38-35 OT loss to Buffalo. The starting job was his for good, and he led the Fins to seven wins in the next eight games, sealing a playoff berth. He ended the season with 173 completions in 296 attempts, throwing 20 TD passes while having only six picked off.
Marino still holds the records for highest passer rating for a rookie (96.0) and highest completion percentage for a rookie (58.45). Marino started only nine games, but became the only rookie to lead a conference in passing and the first rookie QB to start in the Pro Bowl.
