Coach Bowles

todd bowles was the assistant head coach which is probably closer than maybe either of these other 2 x's and o's guys, not to mention that he was the interim coach. so in fact, he may very well be THE MOST qualified candidate left in the runnin

OH COME ON!!! here ya go todd, we just fired tony. just put these phones on, heres some plays we do and go stand over there where tony used to on game day. THATS ALL IT WAS!! this teams turnaround started BEFORE they fired tony. it had NOTHING to do with bowles. NOTHING!!!!!!

all the players position coaches were still there so they didnt have to learn some new, super involved todd bowles plan and then flourish under it. nothing changed except sparano was gone. somebody had to stand there with the head set on and he having the assistant h/c title, it went to him. thats it!!

these other guys have been around coaching and the nfl for as long or in philbins case LONGER! maccoy coached both matt moore and brandon marshall at one time so wouldnt he be just as qualified? its not like this team is full of players and schemes that no one else in the nfl has. so what if he has been around the personel. he isnt smart. he brings NOTHING to the table other than he ran the secondary for three nfl teams and his unit was bottom of the leauge every time and he is a parcells/ireland guy. thats it!!

not trying to flame at ya man, but i just see some of these pro todd posts and its bewildering to me. the guy has done nothing, isnt known for any scheme or technique. his units are bad everywhere he goes and people think hes a great choice.

next thing i will hear is he is most qualified because he was a community organizer!! ;)

Bowles is also my choice with Philbin 2nd. I actually think that with Bowles at the helm, we stay with the Daboll-Dorell offense. With a full training camp and off-season, I'm confident in this offense. We also stay with the 3-4 defense, our personnel is designed for this defense.

Remember we have the draft + free agency to add some more talent and fill pressing needs.

Our veteran core loves Bowles and respect him, continuity in this situation could be very well received by the players and rewarded with a solid 2012 season...

.It was a rumor even in the article about him taking over duties from Nolan

FOOZOOL: i know its a rumour. thats my issue. i have seen this from two people, you and kb21 [he was first] and i havnt seen any article or video. i asked kb for some proof, got nothing.

and you just posted "it was a rumour even in THE article"........ what article? not that there isnt one, i just want to know which one!!

and again FOOZOOL, think about it and everything that would happen in its wake. it would be a prominant story. with nolan leaving, someone like john clayton or peter king or lacanfora or schefter would have brought it up. i havnt seen it. not once! and like i said, no announcers in any finz game this year mentioned the name TODD BOWLES once! they would have, expecially when it involved a known guy like nolan.

without seeing any article or video and seeing this RUMOUR, i take these things into account as to if i think it would be valid. we are talking about the ross/ireland finz now, and anything is possible i guess, but it doesnt add up. this would have been a prominant story and every game announcer would have mentioned it from the time he took over to the end of season. didnt happen.

everyone has been kinda shocked nolan left. most thought he would be back, fans and media. so if bowles wrestled away his play calling, you can bet he wouldnt have been happy. everyone would have expected him to be gone.

just sayin', thats all.

i keep hearing this one to. i havnt seen it. i havnt seen any of the vet players on film or in a an article saying how much they love bowles. where? not saying someone didnt, i want to see it. from the players themselves!

everyone loved tony. remember, thats what sparked the big turnaround. the players and staff got together and said they were going to go all out and try and save tonys job so they opened it all up, went forbroke, throwing the ball downfield. handing tghe ball off to reggie and finally getting him out in space. all for TONY. [not bowles]

just because players love a coach and respect him doesnt make him great choice. most of the big time coaches are not liked real well by there players.

but again, this is another thing i keep hearing and i want to see it.

and i am sure the black players would root for ANY black coach as throw out a prop if asked in public. . if thats the case than for gods sake, lets get PERRY FEWELL in here! there is a guy who really IS a good coach, a guys whos units are always TOPS of the nfl and not the bottom like todd bowles are. i dont give a rats rear end about white or black. i want productive, experianced, winner, not bottom dweller, only got here by my friends in high places type.

Honestly with the way this coaching search has panned out I would give it to Bowles. Why note he's got more head coaching experience than the other guys and won with the players currently on roster. Keep him and give him a couple years to see what he can do and if he can't get you over the hump, your back where you will be if you hire one of the other guys. This way the player are totally starting over and might be suprised with the results.

now your just making things up........ creative, but entirely false. please dont waste our time. thanx

wow !!! i got lost in all nonsense there... i could make similar arguments against the other candidates and their units not producing.........all of your arguments pertainging to Bowles apply to Philbin and McCoy as well. *situational awareness* Philbin wasnt calling plays either, and like i said, playcalling is not the recipe for a good coach.

but lets not get lost in numbers here...... we're down to a few options and bowles is as good as any of them.

How is Bowles such a good option even compared to what we have for interviews.

Fewell is a much better choice than Bowles or mcCoy but you know we already had our one black coach to interview. Hell if there was no Rooney rule there would probably be no interviews this year outside of maybe Gray and Crennel. Nfl still has alot of work to do with minority coaches getting opportunities unfortunately the problem is bigger at coordinator so teams are forced to use guys like Bowles for their interview
