I don't know if some of you guys have seen him. But He is absolutely the best coach for us right now. He is an O-line coach and he brings that in the trench mean streak to his coaching. Greyboy posted his spotlight during camp he has the players respect and has got them all playing above and beyond simply because he demands it. His interviews he is calm and respectful to the players shows some tough love but is calm and straight forward with the media never seeming to break his demeanor. BUT when he crosses that line and comes out of the tunnel and puts on that head set he is emotional and all over players to an extent. The most important part is that the players seem to respond to him and are motivated to get it right.

He reminds me a lot of a Bill Cowher which is saying something, now OBVIOUSLY he doesn't have the track record but think about it. tough emotional in your face coach, TOUGH nasty mean defense and a bad a** o-line and a stud running game sounds a lot like the teams Cowher coached and has success with. Now lets hope he starts building that track record.

LETS GO DOLPHINS AND LETS GO COACH SPARANO!!!

Just be careful b/c a few years ago Saban=Belichick on this board and we know how that turned out. I think Sparano has what it takes to be a good NFL coach but please allow the guy to prove something before you start comparing him to someone like Cowher.

dont listen to the debbie downer jet fan.............. all the poster is saying is he has that cowher demeanor. You'll love him as a coach AND a person but when the ref throws a flag and calls out your number....... you better avoid him.

Had you objectively added: "and at one point Mangina = "Mangenius" " your point might have resonated more.

I like him, you can tell he is all about football nothing else

He is hardnosed and straight forward with a lot of intensity. He is just what I need. If you mess up he is gonna let you know. I also love the way that if they lose he does not allow the players to talk to the media after the game. He is just what we need.

Parcells believed in Al Groh too.
Parcells wanted Belicheck to succeed him, and was left scrambling when BB left to take the NE job.

Don't have a link, but years ago I remember hearing from a talking head that Groh didn't want to inerview forthe UVA job, but BP told him, "you'd better go, and you'd better listen" suggesting his job in NY wasn't safe.

Wait a minute, Saban was, and still is, a good coach. He is an ahole, twofaced and I f***in' hate him, but he is a good coach.

When people were calling him that(I never did) he took a 4-12 team and led them to 10 wins in his 1st season as a HC so there was something behind it. Calling Saban the next Belichick, thinking Cam would be a good HC and now comparing Sparano and Cowher have been ridiculous b/c those guys weren't allowed to prove themselves first. You would think you guys would learn about annointing a new HC.

Parcells completely screwed us w/ that situation. If not for BP trying to run things in '00 we would have had belichick then he picked Al Groh. Not a good deal for us.

He's a great college coach, he couldn't make it in the NFL though.

I think Sparano has shown early on that he wants to establish a culture of accountability on this team. I like the fiery approach and I think most players do too, as it lets them know exactly where thay stand and why they are in the doghouse... No room for interpretation...

I also LOVE starting Camarillo over Hagan (assuming it still happens) from a coaching perspective since it lets the Vets know, 'you don't perform, you don't play'... And it also lets the guys who are pushing them for playing time know that 'You can WORK your way into a spot'... All good stuff and all about changing the culture and expectations...

Stylistically I guesss a comparison to Cowher is fair but lets wait until he shows some results before annointing him the 'next' anyone...
