Coach Sparono on 3-4 or 4-3.

I just hope the coaching staff turns this team around and gets us back into being consistent winners regardless of what defense or offense they want to run.

As of right now, I think we're better suited for the 4-3. Lets face it, we have no 3-4 linemen, our best LB is kinda small to be playin inside in the 3-4 and most of our LBs are on the wrong side of 30 years old. Switching back to the 4-3 would also allow us to pick the best player in this draft. And there are no top NT in this draft, we would have to rely on 100 years old traylor and a third round rookie.

This is what it would look like:
LE-Matt Roth
LDT-Glenn Dorsey
RDT-Rod Wright
RE-Jason Taylor
OLBs-Joey Porter and Channing Crowder
MLB-Zach Thomas( he would benefit greatly from the 4-3 as he wouldnt have to fight with 300 pounds guards all the time. This scheme would allow him to put up two more year in his carrer)

This front seven would put them top 10 in the league IMO.

I think this front seven

What about Vonnie?

Right! forgot all about him... Well he's gonna battle it out with Roth and maybe the inside spot next to Dorsey (assuming we draft him) but would probably win out the le spot. Its all speculation at this point...

Now that is called, tailoring the team around the players and putting the players inthe best scenario to succeed. Something the last FO said they were going to do but didnt

I hope this staff can get it turned around. I am tired of being at the bottom, we need to get back on top. I don't want to get to excited this offseason, like I always do. Just got to wait and see what happens.

The problem isnt having the right players to run a specific scheme, but the right players to run a good defense.

The defense, even if it isnt a pure 3-4 right away, that will almost certainly be the goal.

There's about one player on the defense who is more of a 4-3 only player, which is seemingly Matt Roth.

We've got a dearth of quality DL in general, not 3-4 specific.

Zach Thomas quite arguably had two of his best seasons in 2004 and 2005, playing in a defense where there was little difference between his requirements and positioning as a player and that in a 3-4.

Who do you put at NT then? the nose tackle is where it all starts with the 3-4, if you dont have one the scheme doesnt work. The only one we have on the team is Keith Traylor, every other DT on the team is under 300 pounds.

and theres about a 99% chance he wont be returning

exactly my point...

So as it stands Soliau (6-4 345)is the only guy on our roster who is big enough to play nose, he didnt impress with limited action though, but with good coaching, who knows, he could turnout to be good...

You get a player to do that? You cant really consider that short team a scheme is unteniable because you dont have a specific player.

Off the top of my head-

Shaun Rogers is pretty much a prototype NT, potentially out on the market, and a guy Parcells susposedly likes alot.

Parcells long-time NT Jason Ferguson is potentially on the outs in Dallas, as they've got two other younger guys at the position and dont require someone his size.

Sedrick Ellis and Glenn Dorsey are two probable top 5 picks who have solid potential to play the position.
