I know we are on to the Patriots. But something bothered me and I have not seen it mentioned on here.

On Seattle's last drive on third down Alonzo tackles Michaels inches short making it fourth and inches at Seattle's own 35. Replay showed that he was clearly down at least a yard and a half to 2 yards before the spot. Phillips was down on the play and they had plenty of time to challenge the spot as it was also before the 2 minute warning. It should have been 4th and 1 1/2 to 2 yards! Instead Alonzo gets carried for 7 yards and we all know what happens next.

Did anyone else notice that play?

I noticed it and thought for sure that we would challenge. if memory serves there was a player injured on that play which gave us a little bit more time to review. easily a 2 yard gaffe and miss on our
part. you never know.....

What bothered me more, and I'm expecting the same thing in Foxboro this week, is on the Seahawks TD pass, the refs throw a flag for defensive holding only to pick it up later and say there was no foul on the play. I bet if the Seahawks don't score there, the refs will not pick up that flag but enforce the penalty. Because if you watch the play unfold, I don't see anybody even close to a holding penalty. Nothing. I have no ****ing idea what the refs are throwing a flag for. Not even remotely.

Well, Fouts was screaming this play is coming back. That's a pick play! Then when they said no penalty for defensive holding, he said good call by the officials. WTF???

The replay showed that there was no pick and it wasn't really close. Not sure what Fouts was looking at (or the refs).

To be honest, I really felt that the pass that was ruled an incomplete on 3rd down on the Seahawks first series to Tyler Lockett defended by Maxwell was a fumble and was hoping for a challenge flag from Gase.

Maxwell is holding...ref sees the hand on the top of the back of the shoulder

as for that kiko play I thought it was marked forward but I didn't think it was a yard and a half forward

also on the last Miami possession tannehill fumbles the ball it's possessed out of bounds by the defender the clock should have stopped instead we got a running clock...not that it much mattered

officiating is sketchy...no doubt

Rizzi is in charge of the challenges. I think Gase may be more concerned with getting plays called.

Fourth down with the game on the line no matter what distance I wouldn't bet on us stopping it. Anyone remember Andre Johnson out jumping our DBs on a 4th and 15 or Jamar Taylor biting on a fake for P Manning to complete another long fourth down amongst a load others?

Rizzi is the assistant HC. I don't have a problem with him running the challenge system. He is just listening to the guys upstairs anyway. It's not like he's doing anything when the offense or defense is on the field. Might as well utilize him. It worked pretty well for Dan Campbell.

This is a team that, for years, has lacked clutch play-makers. Jones probably comes closest, but I can think of no others I consistently expect to make a play. That, IMO, is the step Miami needs to take to become a solid football team. Currently, when a big play is needed, I expect it to come from the opponent. But, I'll admit one prejudice . . . I HATE playing not to lose. Rush the passer!!! Blitz!!! I've seen prevent too many times. Doesn't work.

I don't like rizzi...I thought he was carried by Jarvis landry the returner prior and there's always something going on with his unit in terms of a break down

I thought they punted after that play. I remember wanting to see a challenge because they had a real generous spot, but I dont remember being pissed off at them converting a 4th and short there.
