"Yes, that's what a quarterback has to do. Win.
"That's what he has to do," Christensen continued. "You have to win games. You have to find some way. It's not always conventional. It's not always pretty. We got to find some way to win games. That's our job as coaches. That's his job as the quarterback. That's the unit's job ... That what we're all measured by."

At least the coaches get it, no excuses. After the first two games I actually feel good about this team. The offense is greatly improved especially the offensive line and pass protection. Defensively, yea it is a train wreck right now, but that can change quickly with good coaching. We have to beat the Browns badly. We have to come out with the mentality to score 50+ no more conservative crap. Then we have to beat the Bengals if not the season is in jeopardy but if we do then we are right where we need to be, yes to make the playoffs. I find it hard to blame Tannehill for the first 2 games, yes he made some mistakes, but I have hope.

So Coaches, QB and Offensive Unit, sounds like the Offensive Unit from top down has to do their job not just QB.

NBP81 thinks the title of this thread is very misleading....

He did continue on though:

"If you're leading the league in offense and you can't figure out a way to win football games, then what's it worth? Then they're just numbers. At the end of the day you have to find ways to win football games. He's measured just like the rest of us. All the rest of the stuff is OK but figure out how to win. Win playoff games. All those things. That's the bottom line measuring stick. It's not yardage. It's not leading the league in passing. It's not quarterback rating. All that stuff is fun to look at when you're winning but not worth a whole bunch if you're not winning."

It does sound to me like he is putting it on Tannehill.

Just a matter of time before the haters get in here and take this out of context and start blaming Tannehill for us not winning....lol

That is our OC talking. He was pretty darn clear too imo.

Once again, I believe a QB gets too much credit when they win and too much blame when they lose. This is not basketball where one player can will his team to win as there's only 5 guys on each side. Dan Marino didn't win a super bowl, did he sucked? This is not directed at you but I get sick of listening to people say that QB's that win are great and QB's that don't win suck. Sanchez went to two AFC championship games. Was he better than Tannehill?

Confirmation bias at its finest.

He said many things in that article, one was qb, one was coaches, one was offense, dolphintodd decided to pick the one that he liked the most. Not surprising given his past posts.

We all have our own personal opinions on what makes a QB good/great/subpar/etc., however, when our OC Clyde Christensen says it, it actually carries weight. A LOT of weight.

Well, I still think you're taking it ouf of context. I mean yes, you want the team to win but how many games is he talking about? He even mention you have to win playoff games. At the end of the day people remember who won the games of course. They remember who won the super bowls but as good as a QB can be, he can not win alone or else, why didn't Marino win several super bowls. Simple yes or no answer for you or for anyone. Did Marino not win cause he was bad? Was that the reason? yes or no?

Ozzy rules!!

Ofcourse OP left out the part where essentially he says "winning" is EVERYONES Job. Way to single out the Qb only in the thread title.

And we agree. It SHOULD carry a LOT of weight. "That's OUR job as coaches. That's HIS job as the quarterback. That's the UNIT's job ... That what we're ALL measured by." [emphasis mine] Sounds clear it's not all on the QB.

Well we'll judge that if and when he says it. Bc he sure didn't say anything like you're trying to spin here. Anyone who thinks he was coming out and saying something about Tannehill is a buffoon. There is NO way in hell he would be that stupid. Not to mention this staff is completely supportive of our QB.

So...on to your next attempt to spin....

I don't see how anybody could say this statement was taken out of context:

As for Dan Marino? We won because of him, those were some awful teams we had back then.
