Don didn't exactly wear a suit and tie.

Yes, not every coach wore a suit.
But today's coaches don't even look like they are trying.
I don't wear a suit. Never have. No point in doing buttons and a tie every day.
I don't know how to tie a tie.
But make an effort not to look like a ball boy

It was the NFL realizing product placement increased sales.
Old video of the Bills- Oilers game. On Bills sidelines, there were like 5 or 6 different styles of caps the players wore. Now it's all regulated and every one wears the same pro-army or pro- homo rainbow NFL official caps.

Obviously calculated move. Best coach in the league dresses like all poor Americans. So they feel associated with him. Meanwhile he's got millions and a 20 something wife. Like arranged marriages of royalty, through the ages
