I would put Steve Spagnuolo at the top of my interview list. But if I recall he declined interviews last cycle too.
The guy's a decent defensive coordinator (except vs. the Bills during the regular season), yet as a head coach he was a classic example of the 'Peter Principle,' going 10-38 with the Rams from 2009-11.

The one year ('10) that his team went into its regular-season finale with a shot at the division title in a weak NFC West, it collapsed completely.

There has been some seasoning since 2011. He has been an above average Coordinator and has some HC experience. Despite his record 10+ years ago it makes sense to talk to the man if he even wants to consider it.

Bring Lane back to So Fla out of that group. I prefer a defensive coach with good coordinators, but I like Lane.

I also like Jim Schwartz as an experienced guy.

Not really a fan of any of those coaches, but if I had to take one, I guess if we found a good DC, he might make some noice the earliest, with possible eventual success.

I don’t understand why the next HC should be a former HC in the NFL when the league is full of highest successful guys in their late 30s and early 40s on their first gigs.

Would you have chosen any of…
Sean McVay
Mike MacDonald
Nick Sirianni
Liam Coen
Matt LeFleur
Ben Johnson
DeMeco Ryan
Aiden O’Connell
Dave Canales
Kyle Shanahan
….if they were interested?

All are on their first HC jobs. All are doing really well. Find one of them in Chris Shula or Joe Brady or whoever. Or at least don’t eliminate them without ever considering them
Mike MacDonald sounds too much like Mike McDaniel
