Coaching Carousel and Vance Joseph

Joseph will probably be a big time candidate next year if he keeps this up.

A bridge too far this year


If he does leave Gase could probably get Fangio - he turned down the 49ers job because he wasnt allowed fangio as DC
 
I have no idea who would replace him, but I feel a helluva lot better finding a suitable replacement now that we have a good head coach.
 
Good chance VJ gets a HC job within the next 3-5 years, but it'd be unusual for him to get an offer after only one season as a DC.
 
I doubt he gets a HC job already.... Hes ALMOST in over his head containing 1 side of the team
 
Next D.C. Needs to be a guy who was a good to great D.C. That was fired as a head coach...

VJ has done a great job here. We have a strong front, 1 competent LB (none this past week), a converted WR at CB, a terrible slot CB, an FS off his couch and an SS who's been a career special teamer and we're playing meaningful games in December. Bravo!

I keep thinking that I read somewhere that we promised the DC job to Matt Burke when Vance moved on. It was the carrot dangled to get him to agree to a lateral move from the Bengals staff.

If I am mistaken then Fangio makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Hardly, he has managed to get something positive out of a unit down its best corner, best safety, well below average trash at two of the backer positions. He has taken a WR at one CB, a dude of the street at safety and made them serviceable starters. Just this past week he was rolling without his mike backer. Joseph has done a damn good job with what he has had to work with...

Being this out of touch with reality is bloody impressive
 
I like but don't love Joseph. He can be replaced. What our we like 28 in defense?

With a defense that probably should be 32nd

Vance is working with chicken ****. YOu can't make chicken salad from chicken ****, its physically impossible but he managed to cover the stench with a lot of salt and made it look half editable
