Well another season gone wth me left wanting more, but I feel this team is heading in the right direction. Some changes need t be made at the coaches level. Here are my thoughts?

Firings:

Offensive Coordinator Mike Sherman: My problem with him is his questionable play calling every game. I'm part of the minority on this board that is not screaming for him to be fired this year but I would not be surprised if he is fired. If we can find a better OC, I'm all for it. But Sherman has an excuse, he didn't have a functional offensive line, or a RB who can pass protect, and the entire WR/TE unit wasn't healthy. We were missing, Brandon Gibson, Armon Binns (who was having an excellent camp), and Dustin Keller for the entire season. Let me reiterate one more time, if we can find a better OC, I'm all for it; but the coaches listed below are the ones that really need to be replaced immediately.

Offensive Line Coach Jim Turner: He should be the first firing. I don't mind the personality at all, in fact, I like his approach; BUT...this unit was the worst offensive line in this franchise's history. They can't run block or pass protect. I understand we did not have much talent on the o-line to begin with, but I believe this unit still underacheived. The o-line captain was having unit meetings at strip clubs. If they were performing at high level, I wouldn't mind, but they weren't. In addition to this unit's lack of performance, the Bullygate fiasco will be the "nail in the coffin" to coach Turner's tenure with the Dolphins. I think the Ted Wells' report will reveal some things coach Turner should have done a better job of controlling this unit.

Running Backs Coach Jeff Nixon: This unit needs new blood, Lamar Miller has talent and Daniel Thomas needs to go. After seeing Miller for a full season, he's not an every down back, but he's the best RB we have on our roster for now. Miller struggles at pass protection, and he's not a banger in between the tackles when we need the tough yards. If we can get him behind a decent offensive line, he will be a dangerous change of pace back. Ok, I went off topic a little (reeling myself back in now). My problem with the RB coach is this unit's lack of ability to pass protect (pick up blitzes). Not one RB in this unit could pick up a blitz or sustain a block. Just a poor coaching job all year long.

Quarterback Coach Zac Taylor: He should've never been the QB coach iInexperienced), he's not ready yet. They should've had an experienced QB coach with Taylor serving as his assistant.

What are your suggestions?

are we really making excuses for Sherman because Armon Binns wasn't available?

Anyone that has a problem with Sherm, has to have an issue with Joe. He hired Sherman and Joe is supposedly an offensive guy.

Don't agree with any of this with all due respect.

The fact that no adjustments were made ANYWHERE, that the team was flat in every crucial game, that things that did not work kept being used & no effort whatsoever was made to utilize the strengths of personnel is inexcusable. No mercy. Get rid of them all & stop wishful thinking.
Hesitation is already costing this team.

BTW I think Ireland is the best of the bunch & that is saying something....

Also, looking at the 2013 draft class can anyone tell me why Gillislee was not given more chances over hum drum Thomas? The one chance he had he had a little jump in him. So what does this stubborn ass staff do? never use him again.

I wouldn't mind a clean sweep on offense, there wasn't much good from any unit on that side of the ball

Yes I agree. Philbin was the genius to hire all of them. The game planning the lack of adjustments all falls on Philbin. I think he should go but he's not so no point on beating on a dead horse. Guys that should be let go, taking into consideration that Ross wont fire Philbin: Fire - Sherman, Nixon, Turner, Taylor(how do you hire an unexperienced QB coach to develop a rookie QB) - Kevin Croyle gone!!! Last but not least Jeff Ireland. Wishful thinking but if there's a new GM he should be involved with Philbin to revamp his coaching staff

I believe the only reason we have Sherman is his link to tannehill. Other than that, there was no reason to hire him. We would have been better with henning, and saying that makes me want to vomit.

i would keep the replay coach we went 7-8 on coaches challenges.
