There will inevitably come that games day depending on where the playoff picture is that the "experts", will talk about how the Jets have teh advantage playing in New York not because of Home field advantage but because of the cold weather. Well that will be a load of crap but the media needs something to prove how "smart" they are with their predictions and their analysis.

But looking at our team we should have no problem and actually have plays that are better suited for a cold weather game than the Jets.

QB- Chad Pennington has obviously played in the cold in New York.
RB- Ronnie eh idk about him but Ricky had a decent game up in Buffalo it was something liek 228 yards/
WR- Ted Ginn played in Ohio not really warm by any means.
TE-Martin has played in Green Bay
The line should be fine.

On Defense
Ferguson- used to be a jet
Roth- He is so tough i dont think it matters what the temp is
Holliday- played in Green Bay and KC

LBs
Joey Porter- played in Pitt I think he can handle some cold weather
Torbor- played with the Giants
Crowder- he might have a problem
Ayodle- Same boat as crowder
Anderson- look at teh last two ha

The secondary
CB- Will Allen has played in New York most of his career
he will be fine.
Goodman and Allen are a little fragile in the cold weather I assume.

Saftey
Hill- born in Detroit he can handle the cold
Bell- He is having a such a good year it wont matter

So all the bull about the cold weather should not even be talked about but we all know that Mark Schlerith, Chris Berman, Tom Jackson and all those intelligent analysts will talk about it. just remember that most of our core players all have played in the cold and have done well.

power running, no turnovers and ball control is what it takes to win in cold weather. Miami has all three cover right now. Bring on the Bretts

The Jets better concentrate on Buffalo... The Bills are upset at being embarrassed up in Toronto by our Phins.

they could be as upset as they want.

We must have been pretty upset last year but that didnt help us much.

I hope Buffalo wins and throws brett Favre around like a ragdoll but I doubt it

Its all mental imo, having lived in both the northeast the majority of my life and orlando for the past 4 years i have experienced both.

I think people are forgetting that the Dolphins have to go to Arrowhead and play KC before the Jets game. If I recall, playing in Arrowhead in the month of December isn't exactly a day at the beach. If the Dolphins can handle their business in the elements at Arrowhead, then the Meadowlands shouldn't be an issue either. These are grown @ss men, the elements shouldn't matter to them.

Cold is cold period. The fins pratice in the warm weather, and play few games in the cold. It does take some getting used to and you can't do it in a few hours. The jets bills and pats are more used to the weather. Just like we have an advantage when teams come down to play us in the heat. I find it a lot harder to catch a football when it is 30 then when it is 80. Even if you have played in the cold in the past, you get used to the warm weather.

It's really only an advantage if the field conditions end up being really icy, or it's snowing heavily. I don't think the temperature alone is enough to be an advantage, if it is it's minimal. You have to assume the Jets would have an advantage because they have experienced playing and practicing in those conditions and we simply don't. Though if it's snowing 3 inches i can't see their offense looking like a well oiled machine and ours not. It will just be an even tougher, close battle.

1:00 pm regularly scheduled game: cold
8:30 pm if nbc decided to make this a night game for national tv: more cold

i really hope they flex another game that week, but with nbc already being in NJ for the giants game, i dont see a 1:00 game happening...

Thats fair. Then go win the game.

Uh the vast majority of cold weather teams practice indoors in the winter ....our Dolphins practice outside in the humidity the majority of the time. I know the Packers practice in an indoor bubble in the winter.

Again, cold weather teams don't practice outdoors when it's snowing etc. The fact is, if a team can't play in cold weather then they don't belong in the NFL
