Hes on the air talking about how we are going to end up with a better record than the Cowboys.

He is also talking up Parcells and how he has turned this thing around.

Parcells is the man, but Chad Pennington had a lot to do with this as well.
I don't think they were expecting the Jets to flat out cut Chad. Also, I don't think
Chad comes to Miami if Parcells isn't here. Probably goes and plays with Herm in KC.

Honestly I thought 7 wins on the season was going to be SPECTACULAR... To have even a shot at eclipsing that is well beyond my expectations...

With our record against GOOD teams you simply have to give props to the FO and coaching staff as well as the obvious leadership on the field... Porter and Pennington are making everyone around them play better.

I totally agree! I was in NYC yesterday to watch my sister run the NYC marathon. I ended up watching the jets vs bills game then ours at a sweet bar in manhatan called the Stumble Inn. Best cheeseburgers ive ever had.... but anyways, all of the jets fans in there were admitted they shouldnt have given up on Chad. I could tell they arent sold on Farve, and maybe wish they had a heatlhy Chad back on their team. It was pretty weird being the only one in a packed Jets bar with a Dolphins jersey on.

9-7 I think would be dissappointing with the schuedule we have, but its very reasonable and could easily happen. 9-7 probably doesn't get us in the playoffs (potential wildcard). . . 10-6 should get us a wildcard playoff game (may win the division), 11-5 wins the division (may get a bye), 12-4 gets us a bye.

If the Steelers lose tonight . . . the Titans will be 8-0 . . . the next best team in the AFC will be 5-3 . . . so the Fins are in great position and just need to handle business.

Like I said in an earlier post, I'm thinking we will go 6-2 . . . 2-1 in the division and 4-1 against the other 5 teams. 10-6 with this scenario probably wins the division for us and we have a home playoff game on wildcard weekend. . . 10-6 by going 1-2 in the division and 5-0 against the other teams probably gets us the wildcard and a road playoff game on wildcard weekend. This stresses the importance of winning those division games.

Its fun to talk about, but we can't overlook anybody, I don't even wanna think about Oakland . . . or New England, until this Seattle game . . . focus on Seneca Wallace, Juluis Jones and that talented defense they have. Thank god its at our house.

Good points and agreed but the Dolphins are already 2-1 versus their division. It would be huge if they can defeat New Enland at home and take one from either Buffalo or the Jets on the road.

Correct, and if we go 2-1 in the final 3 division games and go 10-6 in the division, that may win the division for us . . . 3-3 . . . ugh I dunno, especially because that would mean the Jets probably beat us week 17.

The New England game will be a big one in the grand scheme of things.

Wow we are a fan base that's either down in the mouth or Overreacting to every win and loss. I think Miami has made imporvements, but lets look at this thing realistically. We were not a 1-15 team last year, we were better then that. We had several bad breaks with key injuries and some of the worst coaching that's ever come down the pike. Miami also has one of the weakest schedules of any team in the league this year. We would not be 4-4 if it were not for the unbelieveable good fortune Chad Pennington was severd up on a silver platter by the hated Jets.

You can't take away anything from the coaching that the Dolphins are getting right now, we are simply being kept on an even keel. The team is not being allowed to look past the next game and this team is not allowed to take any team for granted. It's obvious we are not going to allow three or four players to determine this teams success...other then Chad. We have a different star every week. If this continues I can't see TS not winng coach of the year, cause he's earning it right now.

I'm simply pointing out that we need to reamin on an even keel with this team and not get to high or low based on wins and loses. Personally I think we're just 2 wins from what I thought was a realistic season for the Dolphins. If we finish the season with anything more then 6 wins, count your blessings, if we finish the season with 6 or less, I think we've seen enough to know this new FO and coaching staff is probably the best we've had in years. Either way we have a lot to be happy about and if things do go south remember we have a bright future.

There is a LOT of football left to be played. I can't forget Arizona, Houston and Baltimore that easily. There were some glaring weaknesses exposed in those games and I think we need to see a little more before we believe that the playoffs are a real opportunity.

With that said, I can not begin to tell you how great it is to see the team competitive again. Other than the Arizone game we were in every game and had a chance to win. That alone is so much improvement and has made this season so much more enjoyable.

Playoffs? Playoffs? (thank you Jim Mora)

I am not there yet, but i am having fun.

I don't know why every article I read that predicts playoffs or says they are a possibility, mentions a softer schedule in the second half of the year. So our first half schedule with the Jets at home, Texans, Cardinals and Ravens was not a "soft schedule." Are Korean Robinson and Leroy Hill soft players? I'm not surprised at a 4-4 record nor am I impressed by it. I was surprised by last years 1-15 record. I expect this team to do well. We have a playoff caliber QB, RB's, and OL and our secondary is coming along nicely in the last two games. It seems our as our secondary goes, so our team goes. I don't think calling the second half of the season's schedule soft helps anything though.

Granted I'm new here and haven't read enough but why such a conservative approach? You almost seem to be scared to shout out a scream of enthusiasm for your beloved squad. Trust me. DO IT! ... You'll feel much better. :D

IMO, todays game is so much different than it was in the recent past. As short a period of time as 15 years ago. There are no more dominating teams that you just knew, week to week were going to win it all as early as three weeks into the season. Thank you salary cap and mediocrity of available talent. Just take a peek at how many undrafted players are active in the todays NFL.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to discount the excellent talent we have in the game today. I'm just trying to point out the balance that is todays rosters and how close the level of play is as a whole in general.

Okay maybe a stretched example and right off the top of my head but was there anyone out there that didn't know after 3 weeks into the '91 season the Redskins were going to win it all? ...

Just ones opinion and perhaps a little food for thought.:dolphins::cdf:

With all due respect, "Who Gives A Crap?" Really! Cowheard? He is a punk with a radio show. Any one of you guys in this room could do a much better job then that punk. Radio Talk show guys dont have any bigger brain then anyone else. They just were in the right place at the right time to get the job. They have done tests with actual monkeys and found out they pick more games right then most humans!
