Anyone listen to Colin Cowherd yesterday? He said that the coach of the Dolphins was such a bad job that they are stuck chosing between candidates Mora and Gailey for the job and that the Dolphins are a head coach deciesion from becoming the Oakland Raiders.

That's just a stupid frikin statement.

The difference is, we actually have talent on the field, where the Raiders are horrible all the way around. We just need a coach that is serious about the dolphins.....

Whatever. If it was truly bad, ESPN would be bashing us as much as they hate us. They aren't, so this jerk is just being himself.

Just the same stuff, our defense is old, no quarterback etc.

Every other "expert" that I have heard has said that the Miami job is the best one out there due to the fact that the owner will do anything to win.

i like colin cowherd though...i listen to him all the time

Who cares? What was said about the Saints last year? They barely had a place to play, now look at them. Their list started a lot shorter than ours.

Why in gods name would ESPN hate the dolphins, geez, unreal, y'all are rediculous with the us against the world mentality everytime you hear something negative said about the Dolphins, it's freakin FOOTBALL people! and also quit taking what every talking head on the radio says to heart. Who really cares what Colin Cowherd's opinion is on the Dolphin job. It's a head coaching postion in the NFL, that is not a bad job, we just need competent people performing the search.

Cowherd does whatever it takes to get a reaction... he has admitted it on the air.

i agree without about half of what he says, and he is often proven demonstrably false, for example: he touted Cal as a national title contender in 2006 it didnt pan out for him, so after weeks of building them up, he didn't mention them again until November, due to an early loss.

and i very much enjoyed the way he called out Nick Saban. he didnt hold back anything on Saban, and even had his engineer play the sound of a snake hissing everytime he said Saban's name.

That's right. But if it weren't for Al Davis being ... well ... Al Davis, the Raiders job would be far more intriguing than the Dolphins job. In Oakland, you've got a pretty impressive young defense - what you need, are some playmakers on the other side of the ball and that's where the high picks in this year's draft come in handy. The Dolphins on the other hand have a great owner but are sorely lack young talent. I can fully understand why the job is not as popular as it used to be - Saban has left a mess. Granted, you got an owner commited to winning, but you simply don't have the players to do it in the near future. You might be able to accomplish a Mangini-like turnaround. More realistically, however, you'll be stuck in mediocrity for quite some time until you cleared up Saban's and Wannstedt's mess.

He uses broad generalizations to and assumptions sometimes in an effort to make bold statements that generate buzz among listeners. That's why he's successful at what he does. Sometimes he's right on, sometimes he's not even in the same ballpark!

Take it for what it's worth - the opinion of one talk show host!

I Listen to Cowherd on his podcast's wheni'm working here's what really happened:
Colin is talking to Mort:
Colin says: The fins are a Mess. They QB situation is worse then when saban arrived and their D is getting older.
Mort agrees and says on paper it's a bad job, BUT the fins have a Great owner and a great front office so that can offset some of the troubles that come with the job.

Mort then goes on to say that the miami offense is "Bankrupt of talent"

Colin then says that the D is old, but mort tells him Taylor, thomas and holliday are playing the best football of their careers...

They also get a little into saban. Mort defends him after he interviewed him last week. Basically blaming it on his agent jimmy sexton.
