College Coaching Changes

2006 disagrees with you. U of L was a Rutgers field goal away from playing in the BCS Title game that year against Florida.

The player in your avatar played for a University that wasn't a major player until 1979 when it hired a pipe smoking rough neck coach that promised a NC in 5 years. It has been done before, can and will be done again. In today's age it just takes more money than it used to. Louisville has plenty of that.

That was in Miami, FL. Not Louisville, KY. The locations are completely different. And the high school talent levels are not even close to equal.

Butch Jones has backed out of his agreement with Colorado. Mainly because he thinks he still has a chance at the Tennessee or Wisconsin jobs

Bah, with television contracts and the fact that most BCS league schools are on TV most every game they play not to mention the recruiting services on the internet, being in a recruit rich area is important, but not as important as it was in the early 1980s.

I think he's a good coach. But he's never walked in to a situation like UT. Brian Kelly didn't leave the cupboards full for him there.

He'll have talent at Tennessee. The Vols have always been able to recruit. He's just gotta coach them up. I think the last big time recruit to live up to his ranking was Eric Berry.

Tommy Tubberville to Cincy???? WTF??

Dan Mullen's name mentioned for Colorado. Rumors are he doesn't think he can do much more at Miss State. But probably a play to get more money. Mike MacIntyre also is in play.

Rod Carey who was the OC under Doeren at NIU, has been promoted full time to head coach. He was gonna coach the bowl game either way.

Willie Taggert officially USF coach

Texas Tech's top 3 choices are A&M OC and former Tech QB Kliff Kingsbury, Clemson OC Chad Morris, and new Call HC and former Tech assisstant/Player/coaches son Sonny Dykes. Dykes isn't happening now. Fanbase REALLY wants Kingsbury.

Bobby Patrino to Western Kentucky

Pittsburgh Steelers OL Coach Sean Kugler named UTEP head coach. Kugler played football for the miners. His son is a 5* OL committed to Michigan

Mike MacIntyre confirmed as Colorado head coach

Petrino to WKU. WKU's first game next season is versus UK in Nashville. That will be a fun one for sure. Petrino LOVES beating UK. Not only beating them but grounding them to dust.

after the success they had with Larry Fedora, Southern Miss goes back to Oklahoma State to get their head coach and hire the Cowboys OC Todd Monken

Texas OC, Bryan Harsin is now the Arkansas State head coach. Harsin was seen as an up and coming coach while at Boise State. His stay at Texas is said to be filled with tension but that had a lot to do with how the program is currently ran
