If I were running the Phins I would start Ferrotte due to his overall greater experience (especially in Linehan's offense). I just don't think A.J. is going to pan out. Part of this idea comes from the fact that he couldn't beat out Joey Harrington at Oregon, Harrington has been unimpressive thus far in his career. Tedford's systems help QB's dramatically at the college level as well. Why couldn't Feeley beat him out?

Ultimately, I think the Phins will have to draft or sign another QB. They should of traded for Brunell or waited on the Feeley trade so they could have picked up Kerry Collins. Collins' big arm in Linehan's pass happy offense would have been scary looking after the offense adjusted. I thought that the Phins should have traded down and gotten Jason Campbell or Rodgers. J.J. Arrington would have been availible and heck you could have always traded for Travis Henry. (-:
Ultimately i agree with you, except for thr brunell part which i was deadset against because he was looking as pitiful on Jville as he was last year in washington.

Collins I wouldnt have minded. his career stats have been unspectacular but he has a laser arm and when surrounded with talent, such as in carolina or during nyg superbowl run, he performs up to the level of those around him.

I still hope Gus starts this year.

Are y'all looking at anyone in the college ranks who might be a Phin next year. If I were you I'd be praying for Leinart. I think he'll be better than Carson Palmer will be (and Carson is going to be good)!

Im assuming we are but who knows if the Nickatator has the patience to develop a college qb? Im not so big on Leinhart; definitely like Palmer way more though i think leinhart will be a good qb i think palmer will be great.

As far as college qbs im partial to Brodie Croyle, Palko, and Sam Keller. leinhart wouldnt upset me at all but i dont think we'll be in the top 3 to get him or the top 10 to even get an Omar Jacobs or Vince Young (who i wouldnt even want)

Its all about Omar Jacobs bro... 41-4 TD-INT ratio... and can scramble like a mofo... basicly Vick with a brain!

Palko won't be coming out this year (y'all heard it here first!). He's a real Pittsburgh-guy and won't leave early, he's too loyal to Pitt. Aside, you are only allowed to have one great Pitt QB, I don't know how I'd handle having Palko in a Phin's uniform. I'd be terribly torn. Palko goes to Buffalo if Losman doesn't pan out... ;)

In spite of Pennington, Rothlisberger, and Leftwich; I still don't like MAC conference QB's. Everyone throws there. He's a fun college QB to watch though.

They're all good though? How do you not like them? Which one has been bad? All the QBs that are successful in the MAC are successful in the NFL.

Basically I think that those three that I mentioned before are exceptions to the rules. Aside from those three name me some more successful MAC QB's who have faired well in the NFL.

There really havent been any other MAC QBs that have been really successful that I can think of... We will see about Charlie Frye I guess...

I wouldn't hold my breath. He didn't look good passing at the combine. I guess the jury is still out on Josh Harris too. But he doesn't look liek he's going to crack the line-up anytime soon. The conference just passes too much. Too many spread offenses that boost stats. I think it's a conference of Andre Ware's and David Klingler's.

The MAC is also not as old as some of the more established conferences and for a longtime werent able to recruit bigtime athletes. I think Moss changed that. Regardless, their success is relatively new and so to ask for a list of qbs from the MAC isnt really fair.

Im not a huge Chad Penny (hes a jet how can anyone like him?) or Ben fan but i like Leftwich a ton.

except 1 of those qbs was a big 12 guy and the other an independant; ware @ Houston, dont remember where klingler was from but it was a big 12 school

I was more saying that they were guys who put up big stats, but did nothing in the NFL. Tim Couch is a good example too.

Steve "Air" McNair.
