I was just wondering what everybody's football preference is. I would much rather watch an NFL game than a college game (the only college games I really watch are Bowl games and Pitt games--Pitt's my alma mater). Before anyone jumps on me about not caring for college football(most people seem to favor college football), I'll give the main reason (my opinion only):
1.) Option offenses: I don't like option quarterbacks. I'd much rather have a classic drop-back passer than an option QB. Option QB's are basically RB's in QB's clothes. If I want to see qb's take a snap (in the shotgun) from center and take off 60% of the time, I'll go watch a sandlot game. Give me someone who threads the needle. Option QB's have failed in the NFL. Quincy Carter, Scott Frost, Joe Hamilton, Michael Bishop etc. Tommie Frazier wasn't even drafted (someone should have picked him up and converted him to DB like Scott Frost). Als that annoying beat of drums (bands) during the entire game gets annoying

I did kind of like the college rule which stopped the clock on 1st downs. Also, I think it would be interesting if the NFL ever adopted the arena football league rule of stopping the clock on kneel downs (after any play where the offense does not try to advance the ball). This would make the end of NFL games more interesting.

I also like college uniforms...belt-length jerseys, jerseys that are cut , no socks, etc. The NFL has a classy uniform policy (jerseys tucked in, socks pulled up with both colors showing, etc) but the cut-off jerseys have amore football-like look to them. I remember Lawrence Taylor wearing a cut jersey in the mid-80's (cut -off between the numbers on his jersey and the belt on his pants). He looked even more ferocious

I just really enjoy football.

I watch ever football I can. I go regularly to high school games still, I watch Canadian college ball, american college, CFL, NFL, Arena.....anything and everything football.

I just really love the differences in all the games. Seeing up and coming talent, innovative plays, simply just the sights, sounds and smells of football.

I'm a big CFL and NFL fan. It's generally the best football to watch.

I really enjoy watching College football....the tradition, the style, the size of some of the houses! That atmosphere just seems to breed fun.

Basically any type or kind of football I'll watch and enjoy it.

i love all football but the pros get the nod b/c that is football at the highest level. the best football players on the planet are in the NFL - works for me.

i make it to more gator games though. college football games are much more fun to attend IMO.

Im a Wisconsin Badger "fan". But how can you get excited when they scheduel teams like Cal-Poly, Marshall and Buffalo...

Until college goes to a playoff I can not give it as much respect as the NFL.

My post may have come across wrong. I love football at all levels but prefer the NFL.

As far as a college football playoff, I think it's a joke they don't have one. They say it's to prtect the student athletes. That's crap. The BS, er BCS, is total garbage. The players would not have to miss classes if they added 3 games at the end of the season and have an 8 (heck, even 16 team with 4 games added) playoff using the Bowl system (1 vs 16 at the Orange Bowl, 2 vs 15 at the sugar, 3 vs 14 at the Rose, etc). Nobody complains when student athletes miss class IN THE MIDDLE OF A SEMESTER for the NCAA tournament.

BTW, i contend that the 1980 Pitt Panthers are the best college football team of the past 50 years or so (at least). Bobby Bowden makde the same claim

I like NFL better for several reasons. First and foremost is simply the names are on all of the jerseys in the NFL and not so in college. That drives me crazy haha. Secondly is the playoff structure. I probably don't need to say anything else other than BCS. Enough said haha.

Responding to all--Love Dolphin3's sugg. on stopping clock when offense fails to gain pos. ydg. Would make end of half and end of games more interesting. As for the argument about protecting students (I realize you were just pointing this out--not advocating it.) They should explain why they are only concerned about football players in Div. I. What about the lower divisions? They must not be too concerned about women vollyball player's, hockey players, soccer players, etc. Every other college sport has a playoff. Does this make any sense? Div. I needs a playoff--desparately. Just use the bowl games. And as for football in general--I LOVE IT!

My take on comparing college to the NFL is that in college, the game is more pure. The players are trying to get to the next level--they leave it all on the field. Games tend to be more exciting, and the crowds are awesome. But I love them both!

They need a playoff. I advocate a playoff completely.

I love football period....I'm a huge Dolphins fan as I am a Canes fan. I can sit down and watch any game and just thank the lord for football. The thing I like about NCAA football better then the NFL is that this kids want to make it to the NFL and they want to prove things and play with alot more heart and better attitudes...

BTW dude....sorry for the Brewers man..I was really hoping you guys and Tampa Bay would be in the World Series. I cant stand any of the teams remaining execpt for Tampa.

I enjoy all football, but prefer NFL, not as sloppy and not as predictable.

I think the jersey point is valid. After Johnny Unitas died I believe Peyton Manning requested to wear black hightop shoes to honor him. Which the league denied. Some of the college uni's are hideous though IMO.

I like watching good games. Texas vs Oklahoma was great. Though not always seeing the two best teams at the end of the year play in the championship sucks.

The NFL product is far superior. I think the coaches have to do a better job in the league. In college it's not usually about the x's and o's.
