Colt Brennan

Im watching the Hawaii Bowl and wow, Colt Brennan is an amazing qb. He has all the tools to be a great QB in the NFL. Nfl scouts are going to scout him next week to determine whether or not he is ready for the nfl. If he goes to the nfl, i think the fins should jump on this guy. If he goes in '08, I say we go one more year with our current QBs and draft him in 08. The guy has a cannon of a arm, dead accurate and is really mobile. He leads all of NCAA in 6 QB categories is breaking records in completion percentage all time (btw current holder is Cpep), efficiency rating, touchdowns thrown in a season (hes at 56 in the 3rd quarter).. and theres more... i know he plays in the weak WAC conference but he has played some tough opponents ( boise state, alabama, purdue, oregon state) .. and theyre playing a tough asu D, and hes makin them look like a high school fball team. His only negative is the fact that hes on the light side...6'3, 190lb.. one reason he might go back for his senior year would be to get in the weight room and get bigger...Other than that, i think fins need a guy like him... accurate, mobile, cannon of a arm (originally went to colorado to play fball so bigger schools were lookin at him)

Can you say Andre Ware??. Brennan is a run-n-shoot QB. NO THANK YOU!!!!!

Exactly. June Jones pretty much perfected the run-n-shoot while in Atlanta. Hawaii QBs put up great numbers in college, but don't have the physical tools to make it in the pros. Anyone remember Timmy Chang?

Brennan is just another example of a system QB. He throws a lot of shorter passes so his completion % looks great. I wouldn't touch him with a 50 foot pole. B-U-S-T!!!

for one, hes 10 times better than timmy chang.. and also, its easy to hear about the type of system they run in hawaii and say oh they pass a lot so ya hes gonna have a lot of yards... but if u ever actually watch the guy play, he performs so much more than wat is asked in the system he is in... 56 tds and only 12 ints... every defense he plays knows hes gonna pass , and still is able to complete passes

how many run-n-shoot QBs actually hit 60% of there passes? much less 70%.

Timmy Chang? the same guy that has the college record in INTs? timmy chang is a horrible example. he was horrible period, wasnt even good in the run-n-shoot.

Brennan's an enigma...you can't write him off completely because of the system, but you can't simply look at his stats either.

u obviously havent watched the guy play.. he has a great arm for deep passes... ya its easy to say hes a player of the system but he outperforms the system he is in... thats like saying drew brees isnt that good bc hes playin a vertical passing offensive system and his recievers get a lot of YAC

Ive been following this guy, and he is no bust. Okay, you can say his numbers are part of him bein in the system hes in thats fine. But have you seen this kid throw a ball? He throws a ball better than most if not almost all quarterbacks i have seen this year. Dont compare him to Chang, thats a joke. For you people that compare him to other hawaii quarterbacks or say he is a bust then you obviously havent watched him. If he goes in the draft this year he prolly wont even be a first round pick, so we could have a good chance of stealing him. Im a fan for drafting quinn or brohm, but with how we could steal him and with the talents he has shown, i would pass those two up to get this guy later. Complete stud.

I seriously doubt that Brennan is 6'3" probably closer to 6'1"...he was standing next to Matt Leinart (who is 6'5") in a picture and Leinart is at least 4 inches taller than Brennan. I think Brennan has an above average arm, kind of a side arm thrower....I think another year at Hawaii would do him good. I saw Brennan at Colorado and I wish him well, BUT you have to realize he is throwing against WAC and PAC-10 defenses.

that picture was in high school.. they went to the same high school and leinart is 2-4 years older than brennan

So was Matt Leinart... he turned out alright didnt he?

Ohh OK I thought this was a recent picture....Leinart was like a head taller than him.

I have seen plenty of highlights and I am watching this kid tonight and I am sold. I know a lot of it is the system, but Brennan has a lightning quick release and hits anyone he wants anywhere on the field.
