Pittsburgh is 4-3 and plays the NFC South. The only two difficult games after this week's game, New Orleans and KC, are both at home. So even though the Steelers may not be that good, 10-6 is likely. It is imperative that the Colts defeat them.

Also, Pittsburgh plays the Jets. So it may be necessary for the Dolphins to sweep the Jets (this sounds easier said than done) and defeat Baltimore to earn a common opponents tiebreaker against them.

The best scenario would be if Pittsburgh defeats KC in Week 16, leaving only them and the Dolphins as 10-6 wildcards. Or if the Dolphins get a wildcard in a 3-way situation also involving the Chargers at 10-6, with a Dolphins win over the Chargers resolving a 3-way tiebreaker in their favor.

Obviously the best situation is to win the division by defeating the Patriots on the road and hope the Patriots succumb during their upcoming difficult stretch of games.

They still have Cincinnati twice, along with one more against Baltimore. Did you not look at their schedule? Plus, you are thinking way too far ahead anyway. Simple solution: just win and you will not have to worry about this stuff.

I'd just like to start with beating Jacksonville to get above .500, playoff talk with this team is a little premature to say the least.

They need to lose, I agree...It may not matter to us now, but down the road it will if they win.

I have a friend that is a big Steelers fan, and he says they suck big time this season. I think this will be Cincinnati or the Ravens year, and the Steelers will have a down year.
As the other posters have said, it way to early to talk about playoff implications. We could easily lose to Jacksonville this week. We are the far superior team than the Jaguars, but this team does that kind of stuff.
IMHO...I would wait until we are 2 games over .500 on week 12 before we discuss the scenarios.

The Ravens are clearly the best in afc notrth. Cincinnati sucks too! Always will til they fire Marvin Lewis

I feel like if the Steelers DO lose (which I stongly believe they will) it puts even more emphasis on them beating the bengals and ravens, which still only helps our cause. Hopefully all of this talk is meaningless and we win the division! :troll:

Did anyone see the Bengals play against the Patriots and Colts? It is the Bengals who are in decline. So the Steelers remaining division games are two with the Bengals and the Ravens at home. I said that the Steelers may not be that good, but their schedule could not be more favorable. If they don't lose to the Colts they will be a serious wildcard contender, with the Ravens winning the division.

Plus, if they defeat the Colts, it means that they will have defeated the hottest AFC team, negating their earlier bad losses. It would be similar to how the Packers and Patriots have both turned it around after their 1-2 starts.

If the steelers are having a down year then so are the bengals and a bit more. Steelers still have ben and one of the best receivers in the league with antonio. If only their o line wasn't so **** and their defense wasn't so bend but don't completely break lol.

Playoffs,,,,,you talking playoffs????? Haahaaa....I just saw someone else posted the Jim Mora rant as well.

It's still a little early to be focusing on a specific non-division game. The Steelers can look great one minute and like total crap the next. This is one of the reasons I got rid of Ben Roethlisberger as my backup fantasy football QB. I think we just have to focus on our own business. We are 3-3, shoulda/coulda been 4-2 if we beat Green Bay. I think 9 wins may get us in...but time will tell.

Absolutely. But if they defeat the Colts it proves they could beat anybody. Teams evolve. Their remaining schedule is a joke. They would be 5-3 and the Dolphins would need to defeat the Ravens and Jets twice most likely to win a tiebreaker against them, especially since the Ravens game is in Pittsburgh.

A win over the Colts could propel them to a run similar to that of the 2008 Dolphins, a mediocre team with a joke schedule down the stretch.

Have u watched the Steelers bro?? They cud lose to anyone
