Less than three months after giving Peyton Manning a five-year, $90 million contract, Colts owner Jim Irsay is acknowledging that his team may be looking for its quarterback of the future in next year’s NFL draft.

“Guys like that come along so rarely,” Irsay said, referring to sure-thing prospects like Manning and Luck.

Irsay said he believes the Colts with Manning are a good team — he said he thinks they’d be 4-1 if Manning were playing — but Irsay also seems to think Luck is too big a talent to pass up.

“Even if that means that guy sits for three or four years, you’d certainly think about taking him,” Irsay said. “You see what Green Bay did with [Brett] Favre and [Aaron] Rodgers and you’d like to be able to do the same thing.

And he should do it, but he's also working the draft already, having other teams prepare to trade up.

We need Luck, they still have Manning and can go through 16 quarterbacks like we have. **** the Colts.

Dolphins dont even know how to suck! We are in the drivers seat to get Luck but like always, we will win 5-6 games and get screwed out of the number 1 pick. In my opinion, the only way we get Luck is by trading up in the draft.

Manning's absence reveals the work they need to address. They can't keep hitting on the later round WRs etc as astute as Bill Polian may be.

IMO, they flip Manning for a 1st and 3rd plus a starter or 2, keep the fan based energized with Luck and content with his rookie expectations and then start to reload. That's what I would do.

Except their front office will put QB as priority just like Green Bay. We've been stupid for 15 years now not making it a priority. Even though Marino was still around we should have traded up and drafted someone sit behind him.

Don't see why they wouldn't. Anyone that thinks they won't take him cause of Manning isn't aware that Peyton isn't a greek god.

Maybe Luck pulls an Eli if that is the case.

Everyone here worries that might happen for the Fins. Maybe Luck gets pissed he needs to sit and goes back to school or demands a trade.

The NFL should investigate the Colts if they continue to have chokejobs like last Sunday. That was kind of shady how they were up 20 points on the Chiefs and then gave the game away in the 2nd half...

Of course they will .... who wouldn't?

i would do that if we cant get luck obviously, because if healthy i believe manning can still be pretty darn good at this point, and he would bring excitement to Miami.

However, would the team trades for him in that scenario have to pay him the 25 million guaranteed owed to him plus the rest of his contract, or would the colts still have to pay the guaranteed money? because if so, its going to be hard to unload him despite how good he is, when he is owed that much money at his age.

Yea the colts are pulling shady ****.
But still they have to play some ****ty teams. like jax....2 times.

Maybe if it keeps happening, but teams blow big leads in the 2nd half all the time. One occurrence doesn't warrant an investigation...
