My wife and I are coming to Miami for the Fins/Colts game on MNF the second game of the season. My question is, is it better to stay near the stadium and go to the beach or is it better to stay at the beach and go to the game? I assume it is still beach weather in late September. I found a great deal at the Palms. Any other hotel recommendations either on the beach or near the stadium???

The Fountain Blue Hotel on Miami Beach has been completely renovated and is really happening. Definitelty stay on the Beach / near the water.

Plus, if you stay at the Fountain Blue, you can wiggle your tounge at chicks in bikinis like Manolo from Scarface.:chuckle:

(Although I can't guarantee your wife will appreciate that.)

#2 no brainer

..with the caveat that mid-late September marks the peak of hurricane season. Depending on the alert level, sometimes there's a mandatory evacuation of everyone east of the Intracoastal. Usually there's plenty of warning though. It's a nice time of the year for the beach.

It depends what you want. If you mean the Palms on 30th and Collins, it is a little less than a mile from South Beach and people have told me it's a very nice place. You're away from the comotion, but not that far.

The Loews, on Ocean Drive, is where South Beach kicks in. You may want to ask if they have a bus going to the game. There are MANY smaller hotels in the area but as I said, it depends what you want and want to spend.

Getting a room close to the stadium is OK if you just come in for the game, and don't care about anything else.

Let me know, and I will try to help.

Depends on what they want Pal. Funny story on "The Deuce."

My sister is a lawyer in DC, very conservative, goes to church every Sunday, and the like. She comes to South Beach, first time, for a visit.

I take her to The Forge, great time, and to The Playright for a nightcap. Then, she wants to see my friends place, where they filmed Miami Vice and she was insistant.

Off we go to a busy Deuce, with every type of person known to mankind. To top it off, she wants to play pool. We end up winning a bunch of games for shots with bikers who loved her in just having some fun.

She said it was one of the best times she ever had. Go figure. :chuckle:

In 20 years, we had to evacuate twice.

Classic! I guess there's something for everybody at the Deuce.

Forge-Playright-Deuce is a pretty damn solid night!:woot:

Fort Lauderdale beach is also another option. Drinks are cheaper, and I assuming the hotels may be cheaper as well. Its also an easy drive from the beach to the stadium...maybe 15 miles and 12 of them being highway miles.

Some of us became christians because we could party hardy better than anyone else and didnt know when to stop. Jesus Saves!

The Palms is having great rates now but they will go up soon. The hotel has had work done to it so it is much nicer. They are a client of mine so I know for sure that the rates are going up in August.

There is no where nice to stay around the stadium anyways.
