Commentary: Interview with Fox Sports Radio's Ben Maller

Great interview...

Charlies Weis would be an awesome addition... I just fear that we're going to end up improving our young offense but our aging defense will then start to slow down... :(

Weis would be a great addition. I do remember some talk after last season though that he was happy where he was at. Might be tough to talk him out of New England.

I have heard some NE fans say that Weis passes too much, I guess he is the opposite of Wanny. Also, doesnt he have a heart condition?

Charlie Weiss has many health issues. Plus personality wise he is known for having a "thin skin" who can't take the media pressures. This is why EVERY team who interviews him pass on him. I don't see him EVER being an NFL head coach. The health issue is huge. The "thin skin" one might be a larger issue.

Nice work, MikeO!

Crennel is a better choice than Weis. If Wannstedt is fired, I fully intend to start a public campaign for either Crennel or Jim Fassel. :)

As for Weis's health issues, didn't he have gastric bypass surgery to reduce his Andy Reid-esque gut? Of course, he may have lingering cholesterol and heart problems.

He has other health issues.

Crennel would be OK. Fassell is too much like Wannstedt, a players guy who won't be tough.

I think we need an offensive coach since that side of the ball is so screwed up. Someone like Gary Kubiak would be a nice fit. Especially with a "young" new QB (if its not AJ).

I don't think Fassel is too much like Wanny at all. For one thing, he's been to a Super Bowl as a head coach. And he always got his players to rally around him and play tough late in the season; a trademark Phins bugaboo. Finally, he's a very good offensive coach. I mean, the guy made Kerry Collins a star QB. What does that tell you? :)
