Commentary: It's All About The U

Why do people insist on talking College football on the Dolphins page. Did anyone ever think, maybe we aren't into college football? I know it's unheard of......... but it's true in a lot of cases.

I am only into it as far as what talent will be available in the next draft.

We are Dolphins fans here!!! I cant believe the mods havent yanked it out yet!! Damn double standards are the only thing wrong with this site!!

How many seconds would it take for a Buckeye post to get moved???

I guess no one noticed that the first half of the article was about the Phins.

In any event, the mods made the decision some time ago that the commentary section would go above and beyond just the Phins and include South Florida sports in general. I took this as an invite to write about UM once in awhile. I write a Phins article every week, and I wrote about them this week too. But, I didn't think there was much to say about Sunday's game that hadn't been said, and wanted to write about the Canes. So, if you're not interested in college football, just read the first half and ignore the rest.

Ouch! Low blow, Phil!

Anyway, for those of you complaining about Canes coverage, #1, you always have the option not to click on the link, and #2, I apparently sacrifice readership to cover all South Florida teams. Geez, Phil, harsh...

I love South Florida Sports and I absolutely love me some 'Canes football! It is all about the U!

Not so quick, Dr. Phil. Your example of the dog sh!tting on the lawn seems very appropriate in terms of describing Gus Frerotte's best attempt to mimic Ryan Leaf. However, I won't hang Sunday's debacle on Linehan and let Gus off the hook so easily.

I couldn't agree more that Linehan had a major brain fart when he put the ball in Gus's hands at 3rd and 2, especially when the R&R Express was rolling well. However, I don't think Linehan sent in a play that calls for Gus to throw an interception. Somehow I just don't believe that play is anywhere in the playbook. Gus could've thrown it away, for example, but I don't think Gus knew where he was throwing the ball and therein lies the problem.

I hope Sunday's embarrassment for Linehan will translate to the next game. It's time for him to "reverse" his decision on reverses and Gus and put the ball in the hands of the R&R brothers.

Oh I am totally interested in college football, just not the Canes. So if you say "if you are not interested in the Canes, just read the 1st half", I would be all about that!

I'm the one who put the article here. The reason being, the first half of it was about the Dolphins. Posters don't seem to have a problem linking to articles with little mention of the Dolphins, but mention nonetheless somewhere, anywhere in them.

Jay Leno can do a monologue and make a short one-liner about the Phins and it gets posted here. Yet it's not ok for a staff writer to dedicate half of his column (the opening half, mind you) to the Phins??

If an article has zero to do with the Phins, it doesn't get posted here. Witness the majority of the Tropical Flash columns, which are dedicated to South Florida sports in general.

If you've got a problem with this, feel free to complain in the Complaints forum.

I think the biggest problem is people who make no attempt to research a thread's subject matter, yet comment anyway with the volume knob at 11.
