Commentary: Notes About The Offseason So Far

Ninja...I think that the play of safeties like Sanders, Palomalu and Reed are certainly changing the perception of how valuable the position is with the right athlete. For that reason, going after a safety isn't so far out of the question. However, I agree with you that it needs to be the right guy (like if Huff were to fall to us)...other than that, I still think he goes DB either position. A guy like Jimmy Williams is the proto-typical Saban DB....big, pretty fast, tall with good range...

Bell and Tillman has played in Sabans system for a year and each got playing time. Saban might be comfortable in them and want them to start since he has not really tried to resign Lance or Tebucky. Just food for thought.

Thanks Phil ! man, what a scary point you made about Maddox starting in P-burg. If I was a Steeler, I would be sacrificing a ham sammich on the football gawd altar for this to happen.

I liked the Allen signing, like you, I saw it as the best choice for us, I'm glad we got him. I have as much faith in Nick in the d backfield as I do Hud in the o-line. Nick would not make any iffy choices in his realm.

On Peterson, I can hardly believe they gave so much money to an achilles injury. I would think that the agent is about to catch hell because no way is Arrington finding that kind of money...not from us anyway. Thanks again !
