Commentary: Phins/Saints, the recap

nice article... speaking of overthrowing welker, anyone else think its kinda dangerous the way they have that fence right past the end zone? haha... i remember on that welker overthrow him slamming into it, that thing could really hurt somebody out there...

Nice article

The only thing I don't agree on (other then having a cat on your lap while watching football) is this comment on Boston:

Receivers – B. For the most part, they were getting separation. Boston really caught a break on that non-fumble, though. That’s probably why we didn’t hear from him again. Maybe a B+ if they had a couple seven-footers out there.

First off I'm not sure what kind of break he caught. It was clearly a face mask and despite what Tasker was saying on TV the refs enforced it properly marking off 15 yards from the spot of the foul and the Phins retaining position. I'm also not sure that any coach would hold a fumble against a guy who nearly had his head unscrewed on the play.

Would you feel better if I told you that I was also drinking beer at the time? You know, to keep my manly street cred? :)

I agree that the face mask probably caused the near-fumble. Be that as it may, Boston did move forward after that, and that was when he nearly fumbled it. And in any event, we didn't see Boston after that, did we? That leads me to believe that either he was hurt (and if he was, we didn't hear about it) or that Saban riveted him to the bench.

As long as you were tossing back a tall cold one I'll let you slide. :D

Yep Boston didn't see much playing time after the fumble but he hasn't seen much PT all season so I'm not sure there is a cause and effect there. In any case nice article
