Commentary: Sorry, But the Playoffs Are Out of Reach

Ever heard of "Any Given Sunday?" Pats could be 6-10 and we could be 9-7 do I think its going to happen? No but thats the beauty of the NFL, it could happen
 
its a good article.. but if we win and the jets win next week.........

the scenerios would seem very possible....for us to win out...because we would have to beat NE anyways handing them a second loss... so we would just have to hope for one more loss by them.


So its pretty much all on the jets....... that makes me sick to my stomach
 
Its no secret that the chance is very very slim, but its still a chance and it still gives us hope and a reason to win.

Yes, it could, and I sincerely hope it does. But it's pretty damned unlikely.

I suppose the easy answer is that I wanted to overshadow Dr. Zoom's triumphant return to the commentary section and maybe challenge Jay Fiedler's record for most "you suck!" comments in one thread. ;)

But in reality, it's because I thought someone needed to put a sense of perspective into things. Hell, even the Sun-Sentinel jumped on the "maybe the Phins can make the playoffs" bandwagon.

I'm as excited as anyone of the future of this team, but I think we all need to maintain a sense of perspective and not lose our collective heads. I'd rather have low expectations and be pleasantly surprised than get my hopes up over a dangerously flawed team whose chances of making the playoffs rest in large part on the shoulders of a 2-9 train wreck that's started everyone but Ken O'Brien under center this year.

I think we all know the playoffs are a long shot without needing this article telling us how unlikely it is.

Yes it is only a 1 in a 100 chance but we still have hope and it's nice to talk about something else besides who we are going to draft

Out of reach should only be used when a team is totally eliminated from contention if you ask me.
