I know this is a weird thread but its sometimes fun to argue about our views of certain players in our own point of view. Sometimes a person is right and sometimes another person is wrong. Or at other times, everyone is dead wrong about the whole ordeal.

Let me give you an example:

Ronnie Brown is average at best
Chambers can't catch
Trent Green is scrambled
Zack Thomas is not the best Linebacker
Lorenzo Booker is too undersized
Ted Ginn is average at best as a receiver

I can go on but I'm gonna stop there.

What is your favorite misconception about a particular dolphin player and give your reasons and back it up with true facts if you are against it or are not against it.

Other than us picking him 9th, I don't think anyone has labeled Ted Ginn lately as an AMAZING receiver
ZaCh (Notice spelling) Thomas is in the top 3 linebackers currently playing.

misconception: Ted Ginn is damaged goods
fact: HE IS HEALTHY AND 100%

misconception: Dante was great before his injury
fact: his last healthy season was a disaster

I noticed you didn't really provide reasons or back up your assertions, but its your post, so I guess its cool.

I think Ronnie Brown has been average so far. Nothing more than that, for sure.

Chris Chambers can catch, but he is also prone to dropping easy passes. To say he "can't catch" is an exaggeration, but to say that he doesn't possess great hands is surely accurate.

I hope that Trent Green will not have any lingering effects from his concussion. I expect him to play well.

ZT has been one of our best players, but he is also one of our oldest. And he plays in one of the most physical positions. I wouldn't count on Zach being here after this year. If he is, its gravy. But he and JT both are in the twilight of their careers.

I'm going to reserve judgement on both LB and TG. Until they play anything asserted about either one, positive or negative, is pure speculation other than the fact both appear to possess world class speed.

Lastly, the single biggest misconception about anyone on our team usually is that the fans overrate them not underrate them. I keep hearing how Ronnie Brown and Channing Crowder are both locks for pro bowls and I have to wonder who is watching what. And thats just one example. There are a plethora of others.

But anyway, it was interesting thesis that you put forward. I'll be interested to see what others have to say.

These two are not misconceptions. Their play in the past proves them true.

Ronnie Brown is average at best.
Chambers can't catch.

I would change them to read like this though - make them more accurate.

Ronnie Brown hasn't proven yet that he is an elite RB.
Chambers makes difficult catches and drops easy ones.

Regardless, both players are an important part of Miami's offense. They have to produce this season for Miami to win. I hope Chambers goes back to the Pro Bowl, and I hope Ronnie plays in all 16 games, gets over 1000 yards convincingly, and scores at least 10 times. We'll see how it goes.
yea i agree with u when chambers is catching the easy passes he turns his head and doesnt watch the ball into his body... Ronnie is a very good back he just needs to stay heathly and if he can do that and we have a good O-line he could be a very good back

Lemon is only a career backup but I say that he could start if given the chance on a regular basis.

The new kicker Feely will be better than Mare I really do not think so.

Lorenzo Booker is better than Ronnie Brown well Booker may be faster but brown is a better all around back and will have a breakout season if he remains healthy.:ninja:

2004 Minnesota Vikings 16 16 548 379 69.2 4717 8.61 82 39 11 46/238 63 18 110.9

Yeah, pretty disastrous....

Ronnie can't do it all by himself. Just ask Edgerrin James (a UM alum) about his Oline last year with the Cardinals compared to his previous Oline with the Colts. If guys like Vernon Carey (a UM alumni) are working hard in the offseason and doing "the Swasey program", I think Ronnie and the whole offense could do pretty well this year. It sounds like a tough "old school" program like you'd see in a Rocky movie or something. Vernon needs to make Miami Hurricanes football look good in order to attract recruits and all that. He's in his prime years now, so I bet he'll rise to the occasion in 2007 and surprise a lot of people. I hope so. He's a key link in the chain.

"We work hard in here. Each guy has their program and if they stick to it they know they'll enter fall camp in peak condition."

Vernon has a big season ahead of him coming up. He's the main man in charge of QB security this year. Trent Green is going to be counting on him. I hope he's working hard to master that left tackle position. If he does and gets a Pro Bowl he could end up with a nice extension when his contract is close to coming up. I'm sure his buddies at "the U" will help him get there.

"We push each other to get better," Wayne said. "We're all family here. We're all brothers and this is what brothers do. That's why we call it the U. It stands for unity."

Misconception: Ronnie lacks vision :shakeno:

i just laugh when people say that... i dont know what games they watch but its kinda funny...

...and averages more than 4 yards per carry behind suspect lines, while catching almost every pass thrown his way. Definately average at best :tantrum:

Interesting that you say he didn't provide reason and yet you follow the same recipe. Back up your claim that Ronnie is average...based on what statistics?
