Trying to put a perspective on this year's WR class...
Anyone wana try and compare some of the top talent to some current NFL players
Correct me if I'm way off on my comparisons:
Top WRs in this year's draft:
1-Michael Crabtree
Comparison: Andre Johnson- Highly productive possession guy who also has the speed to go vertical and break a big gain.
Worst-case: TJ Houshmandzadeh - Is he slower than people think? He never ran his 40 time. He would be as good as it gets when it comes to moving the chains.
2-Jeremy Maclin
Comparison: Chad Johnson- Not the biggest reciever but gets good separation. Dangerous deep threat. Good speed and agility for a #1 reciever
Worst-case: Ted Ginn- Speed demon who may not be the greatest route runner but a good coach will find ways to get the ball in his hands.
3-Percy Harvin
Comparison: Reggie Bush- Easiest comparison IMO. Both extremely dangerous in space.
Worst-case- Devin Hester- Speed and agility is world class. Let him return kicks and take reverses and run wild.
4-Darrius Heyward-Bey
Comparison: Lee Evans- Straight line speed is incredible. Very Athletic.
Worst-case- Troy Williamson- yikes. top-class speed. Is he a track star playing football?
5-Hakeem Nicks
Comparison: Chris Chambers- Athletic, good yac. Borderline #1 receiver.
Worst-case: Marty Booker- Solid Hands. Just an average receiver who wont blow you away.
6-Kenny Britt
Comparison: Dwayne Bowe- Big, tall possession-type receiver who has the strength to break tackles and get decent yac. Possible #1 receiver.
Worst-case: Ernest Wilford- Good hands. Big, solid build but cant get enough separation to be a threat.
7-Brian Robiskie
Comparison: Marvin Harrison- Intelligient player with top-notch intangibles. Not overly athletic or agile but great route runner and will be a QBs top target. Could be a nice value pick in the draft IMO.
Worst-case: Greg Camarillo- Solid route runner who may bounce around NFL practice squads. He could eventually stick and be a decent possession guy.
