Everybody remember 3 years ago when the Dolphins had the cover of ESPN and the superbowl hype was huge. We went 6-1 and then Lucas finished the season for us. So we were a good team, just an injury to a qb who did enough not to lose ended the season.

Just compared the 2 teams in my head, lets look at this:

QB Fiedler - Frerotte
TB Ricky Williams - Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown
FB Rob Konrad - Heath Evans
WR Chambers - Chambers
WR Gadsden - Boston, Booker, Welker
TE McMichael - McMichael
OL I don't remember but we wern't that good back then anyways. Don't even know the starters of right now either.

DE Taylor - Taylor
DE Ogunleye - Carter
DT Chester - Traylor
DT Bowens - Holliday
OLB Greenwood - Chrowder/Spragan
MLB Thomas - Thomas
OLB Seau - Seau
CB Madison - Madison
CB Surtain - Daniels
FS Marion - Schulters
SS Knight - Jones

I see 3 positions where we lose talent. Surtain to Daniels, Knight to Jones and Konrad to Evans.

I'm not saying we should be superbowl favorites, but I think the haters saying we are going to get Leinart with the number 1 pick should be quiet about now.

Knight to Jones and Konrad to Evans.

I don't think we lost anything on either of those. I think Knight for Tebucky is even because of Tebucky's speed, & Evans is every bit as good as Konrad was. Bowens to Holliday we lost something, & of course the older guys on defense (Thomas, Seau, & Madison) aren't as fast as they used to be.

Seau didn't join the team until 2003, so thats an addition. Also the AFC East wasn't as tough as it is today. In the NFC we would get a wildcard easily. In the NFC West division champs wouldn't even be a question. However, we aren't in the NFC West. We have the hardest schedule and are in the hardest division in the league.
