Comparing the Favourites to Us

When you compare the top dogs in the league to us is there really a big difference?

Let's take the NYG - Great run game, excellent pass game, solid o-line
Real good defense that gets after you.

Was - Great run game, solid pass game with good WR's
but not much better then ours, solid o-line,
Real good defense.

Dal - Great run game, excellent pass offense, solid o-line,
Real good front seven but lousey secondary.

Pit - Great run game, good pass game, shakey o-line,
Great defense

Den - Good run game, good pass game, great o-line,
Good defense

Ten - Great/Good run game, not much of a pass game,
real good o-line and a Great defense that gets
after you.

SD - Good run game, good pass game, solid o-line,
Good defense

Bal - Good run game, okay pass game, solid o-line,
Great defense that suffers you.

Jax - Great run game, good pass game, good o-line,
Solid defense.

Others on the Bubble - Chic, TB, GB, Buf, NE, NO and Philly

Mia - Great run game, good pass game, Solid o-line,
Good defense that gets pressure.

There's not a team out there that is head and shoulders above us, the NYG, and Dal have wonderful pass offenses and that is a bigger difference maker. But look at all the other teams and do any of them scare you? This may only be a simple look at the other teams but if you take in account coaching and specials were right in the thick of things there to.

I know we still have a long way to go but man it seems we're closer than most think.

Not to raise any red flags, but none of those teams got Blown out by ARIZONA.
But you are correct in that all the teams you have mentioned are doing pretty much the same thing we have been doing for the last 2 games

Buf did, Dal looked horrible against Cinci, Was was god awful week 1 and were on there way to another stinker against Philly, We've out played SD and NE, Pitts has injuries up the wahzoo. Bal starts a rookie QB, Jax has tonnes of injuries.

My point is nobody is great, all teams have slip ups for whatever reason see NE 2007.
In past years it was NE or Indy's championship to lose. Pitts and SD knock on the door with Pitts one year kicking it down.
Dallas's Romo has not been good in the playoffs, Washington's Campbell has yet to prove anything in the post season. We could as easily be in the thick of things as anyone else and if not I'm sure there's a chance we lose to Houston. But whatever team can get ready for the playoffs on a roll like NYG did last year has a great shot at winning it, why not us!!!!! Time will tell.

we'll find out how good we can be sunday after sunday....the base is on place...12 more games to go....I just hope our young guys don't hit the wall too early.

Interesting post and I don't mean to nitpick, but 2 small things:

Denver's defense is really bad this year.

The Cowboys have a solid secondary this year. When all are healthy, the additions of PacMan and the rookie they drafted from Ohio State have improved what has been a weakness for them the last few years.

Denvers defense is not real bad, their just not real good. They still have Champ and Dre and they have an offense that makes their D alittle better because their off the field.

I really disagree with you about Dallas's secondary, they've been horrible this year and that's with an aggressive pass rush. I bet Ariz will put big points against them in a close loss.

That rook is from USF not OSU....but I agree with the Denver defense is really bad....and much better than just good pass game.

JAX Oline is terrible right now.
PIT does not have a great run game, especially with fast Willie hurt!

That is true but I don't think Arizona is getting the respect they deserve either. That team is not that bad and offensively and they should blow people out. Scary talent on that O.
