The way our offseason is shaping up we could actually get some compensatory picks in next years draft. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how many UFA we lose compared to how many we sign. Either way, it would be nice to actually get the chance to add some young talent by saying goodbye to some of our UFA's. What are your thoughts on this?

COMPENSATORY DRAFT PICKS: Compensation awarded by the league to teams who lost more UFAs than they signed. Compensation is in the form of extra draft picks added to the end of rounds three through seven. The quantity of picks is equivalent to the difference of UFAs signed to UFAs lost. For example, if a team loses 4 UFAs and signs 1 UFA, they will receive three Compensatory Selections. The value of the picks is determined by the difference of the contracts signed by the players lost and those acquired. The highest possible compensatory pick is the 31st of the third round (91st overall). If a team has signed an equal number or more UFAs than it lost, no "Compensatory Picks" are awarded.

We will definitely be getting draft picks. The question is how high will they be.

if we lose welker we get a second rounder . it is a tough decision . we invested almost nothing to get him and we may end up having a second rounder . but !!!!!! ...can we pick someone that contributes as much as wes ???

thats why you pick up players who were cut..cause they dont affect comp picks

Well if you ask me...I'll be thrilled if we get a 2nd rounder for him. Don't get me wrong...the guy is awesome and I hate to lose him, however it has become very clear that Cam Cameron and Mueller are wanting to rebuild this team and make it younger...something that we have needed to do for a long time. People have always been complaining about our cap room...well now Cam and Mueller are doing something about it. If sacrificing a few seasons to rebuild lands a dynasty instead of one hit wonders like the Steelers in 05-06....I'm all for it

A second rounder may be just what we need to part ways with a good PR and KR who does not find the endzone. I say lets see what vick can do in miami!!! I say let booker and hagan man the out side so CC can flurish as the slot reciever on 3rd down. Maybe grab a guy like Garret wolf in the 4th to be that special teamer we lost with Morris. The bottom line is we have seen what are team has done the past couple years and it sucks, so heres to new ideas!! CHEERS!!

Not neccesarily, because I think Mueller is just waiting for the extreme money purge to deflate, then he will get guys after. After could be after the draft as well however, like after June 1.
