Blame whoever you want, but we were outcoached in every phase of the game.

The Cardinals' staff knew that our safeties and linebackers were weak (<---understatement) in coverage, so they lined Boldin up in the slot instead of opposite Fitzgerald....No adjustments ensued. HOW THE HECK DOES A LB END UP ONE ON ONE WITH BOLDIN?!

On Offense, we ran the ball every first down until we were down 17-0. I was sitting with my fiancee, who knows squat about football, and SHE was like "Why don't they do something different." GOOD F-ING QUESTION!

Our plays on offense are terribly designed, our gameplan, completely ineffective. For once, it is not so much about execution as it is about terrible game-planning. Sure, our defensive backfield looked like teenagers trying to cover (and tackle) grown men, but the schemes were not exactly favorable to success.

Let's hope that Tuna pulls a Pat Riley of 2005-06, and takes over after the 3rd game if we don't come out better prepared.

Last week I posted 10 things I wanted to see this Sunday, let's recap....

Allen vs. Fitzgerald....Well Allen made the highlight reel...except he was laying on his back flailing at Fitz's feet as he caught the ball and shed his pathetic attempt at a tackle

Blitz! Nothing...I promised I'd break things....well I knocked over a beer, close enough.

Bess...Still not enough

You know what...I'm done recapping, let's just say I saw none of the above, and I am disgusted. We have better personnel than that performance suggested, and that can be as much attributed to poor coaching as to anything...

Coaching can not make up for a lack of talent. We were 1-15 last season, and perhaps the WORST FNING TEAM IN NFL HISTORY. The WORST!! . I don't care if a clone of Shula and Bill Walsh were coaching this team, the results would have been the same. END OF DISCUSSION. You are overrating the talent level on this team. We all do to a certain extent.

The plan this offseason was to clog the middle with talent and improve our OL. Our DL and linebackers look much better than last year, and our OL is going to get better, and once they gel will be a very dominant force. We are lacking talent at the skill position, thanks to busts like Ginn and Brown that are not of this regimes doing. Give it time. You can't build a championship team from a bunch of sh*t that has been piled on the ground for the past 6 years.

I couldn't have said it better. We just don't have the talent to compete. Instead of having expectations, maybe having no expecations would be wise, that way you're never disappointed. And if we win a game we could be pleasantly surprised. Because right now I don't see us beating anybody.

I'm not one to pile on usually, but you also blamed that first touchdown on the coaching staff when it was likely a blown coverage by the safety and/or cornerback.

Outcoached? You don't need to be an NFL coach to realize that if you have Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald going against the worst secondary in the league then maybe you should be throwing the ball most of the time. That's easy. As for our offensive playcalling, what do you suggest? Our team will have success when we can run the football. If we don't run well, don't just say it's bad play calling, it's bad play execution.

The TV coverage team said that the cards had seen things on film that they thought they could exploit. Turns out true. It seems to me that might be a scheme/coaching problem? It is easy to say there was a blown assignment, but the second series they did the same thing on the other side, only not quite as bad. I'm not happy with 2 -12 men on D penaltys, again to me that is the coaches responsibility.

Why do you guys think the safety was out of position guys? BECAUSE THE SCHEME HAD NO SAFETY THERE!

I'll give you that we may have overrated the talent-level, but you cannot say that our talent level is that bad...it is good enough, that with a good game plan, we could have kept the plays in front of us, and made them EARN yards. You have to know how to use your players. EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER knew their strength played to our weakness. We are not the only team in the NFL that goes into a game with mismatches, but we certainly are one of the only ones that fails consistently to compensate and prepare for the obvious to at least give ourselves a chance to win.

How do you think players get better...better yet, how the hell do you think the Giants won the freakin Super Bowl....get real! If you think our coaches are up to par, you need to learn about football.

I also think the coaches call running plays on 1st down until we are down 17-0.

I really dont agree, you can see a good coaching example in last super bowl. The giants were a better team beacuse of the coaching... You tell me if man to man the giants was a better team than the pats

saying Brown and Ginn are busts is rediculous.

Just because Bill Parcells doesn't draft you doesn't mean you are a bust.

Has Merling lived up to the 32nd pick of the draft. Or how about the fifteen running backs they used late round picks on. How many of those guys are paying off on Special Teams.

Or the money and time they wasted on McClown, Wilford, K. Davis, Ayodele,

They traded away L. Booker. They have brought in 100 fullbacks

These guys are starting to look like N. Saban the 2nd.

TED GINN is an explosive playmaker, how many times has Bess returned a kick for a TD. Answer: 0

And there is no way in the world I can buy that J. Allen is worse than Crocker and R. Hill. I don't believe it is possible.

THIS TEAM IS being managed by a bunch of premadona know it alls

Players stick with a game plan, and if the coaching staff did not prepare the D for Boldin playing like a slot that´s OUTCOACHED!!

Come on, i think they are a few LB (2-3 at most) who can cover Boldin man to man.

Bill Belicheck couldnt win 4 games with our team last season, probably couldnt win 4 games with the team we have this season. we probably were outcoached, but our players SUCK and thats the biggest reason why were so bad. not to coach.

Dude, I'm feelin' ya...I missed your thread and posted a new one about fins regressing under Sparano. Here's the real problem...Nepatism...

Parcells may have made a huge mistake...and Huizenga let him...in hiring another Rookie coach (read Cam Cameron) to "turn the thing around".

It should have been Huizenga that told Parcells...."I want a veteran HC...no more OTJ training with my team..."

And that my friend will be the story of this years Dolphins...Once again, we hire the wrong coach for a bunch of misfits and talent less millionaires.

What this team needed was a Parcells as a coach, not at GM. Parcells at GM almost guaranteed a rookie coach...a Parcells protege if you will.

What Huizenga needed was a monster of a HC, like either a Parcells or
Damn my memory ...what's the former Steelers coaches name? This is what happens when you get my age.

Anyway...this isnt going to be pretty this year...AND, there will be many many more questionable coaching decisions with this crew...Henning was virtually plucked out of his rocking chair retirement...he calls Offense like it was played during the Shula era...run on first down every time etc.

The Defense...well, coaches miscalculated again...which is a rookie coaching mistake...that is to fall in love with your players...and this coaching staff did and that is evident by the fact that they played tons of man coverage against the leagues most elite wr tandem. Just dumb.

Then, Henning...waits until the end of the 4th Q to go no huddle? WTF is that? Fins should have gone to no huddle in 1st Q down 14 - 0.

Another colossal mistake in coaching staff....it aint gonna change until Huizenga sells the team, period.

Mr. H, he doesnt want to be actively involved...and his poor hiring decisions are keeping this once proud franchise down...and now we are the embarrassment of the NFL.

The Steelers coach you are referring to is Bill Cowher, and while I could only dream of him taking over, I doubt he and Parcells would mesh very well. Perhaps they'd have scowl offs all week and nothing would get accomplished.

Bull crap. This is their people. They overturned 2/3 of the roster. How can you blame this on the past.
