well actually i was quite excited when i heard harrington say that he was going to become a dolphin. he brings experience to the backup/starter position if daunte cant start the first half of the season. i believe that he will do better for us thne he did in detroit because he will be surrounded by a good team which was something he didnt have in detroit. im happy that he will become a dolphin:dolphins:

I am happy too. I just have a bad feeling that Detroit is going to drag this process out as long as they can. We need Joey now so he can start to learn the offense.

thats the only bad thing...he might not know the offense as well as say gus which we got rid of...if we could have restructured or resigned him i would be satisfied too...but harrington definately works

If they drag this process too long, Saban will wait 'till june for the Lions to release Harrington so they wont pay him a $4 million bonus, and Saban will reject the trade to the Lions if they drag it after the 2006 draft, so we have the win - win situation here...

Adding to this that we might draft a QB in this upcoming draft... (if the Lions drag the process 'til the draft day...)

And eventually the Lions will release him, so if they drag the process the only team who will lose is them, they will miss a 6th rounder for the 2007 draft, and what will happen?... the "fire Matt Millen" club will get an enormous force...

but im pretty sure that the deal will go through as it is and if they want draft picks they will accept before the draft but hey if they want to wait after the draft and have to release him that means we got ourselves a pretty good quarterback at really no cost to our team besides a small amount of salary cap space

Thats true, but you also need a QB to absorb the system as early as possible, but not a bad idea at all, we could draft Omar Jacobs and then in June sign Harrington, there will start a controversy for be the starter of the backup QB's...

Of course, all that I'm saying here its just speculation and Saban surely have thought on this!!!...

yea im happy too he has heart and if culpepper cant play this season then i wouldnt be too upset with harrington he was in detriot and had millen picking his teamates he'll be alot better here in miami

have you seen detroits receiving corps??

Don´t get me wrong, I like him to be here because he has way more talent than anything we might have gotten with that 6th but he is not more than a backup. A very good one though.

Harringtons - Reconstruction

we are in perfect time to reconstruct joey,,, we need to save him, and i think saban is the perfect doctor to do that.
also harrington its a level up of a good QB, so this is a win-win bussiness

I dont understand why everyone thinks Detroit's recievers are so good. Charles Rogers is always hurt and never lived up to his high draft selection. Roy Williams is good but has only been in the league for 2 years. And Mike Williams was a rookie who didnt even play the previous year. I dont see why people are acting like he was playing with Moss,T.O. Steve Smith.

Gus chose to leave because, even tho he was not going to be the #1 guy, he wanted #1 pay...besides, Harrington and DC are much better than Gus ever was...

well they are just talented recivers is all, they all have potential of being stars, even Charles Rogers, they just didnt have veteran WR's to gain anything from. I remember one of the 3 recivers detroit has said he was upset that millen didnt bring in any good Wr's with expierience to guide them,

Have you seen Detroit's offensive line?

Its hard to say how good the Detroit receivers are. As stated, Rodgers is always hurt...and besides, how much of the distress in the passing game was Harringtons fault and how much the receivers fault? Was Harrington off target, or did the receiver run a bad route? If Harrington was off target or made a bad decision, how much pressure was he under?

Right now you are probably right...Harrington is in a state of shellshock and is probably no more than a very good backup. Give him a year with a decent line, decent receivers, and an offensive system that makes sense and he might live up to the potential everyone thought he had when he was drafted.

gus chose to leave because he was unhappy with the way he was dealt off...he didnt mind staying and backing up cpep or startin the however many games he would be out for
