I keep hearing how fergie is collapsing the pocket and getting in the qbs face.Fergie is no wilford or jenkins so what is this saying about jake grove?I was hoping this guy would dominate in camp.
 
I only heard that once or twice regarding Fergy.. During the team scrimmage Jake Grove was one of the players who stood out and played very well. That's what bloggers reported.

I've heard the complete opposite. Where did you get that info from?
 
I beleive hes talking about the sun sent blogs from yesterdays practice, but they did say Ferg was beating all line man he went up against yesterday.
 
I for one am worried about players with past injuries going all out during practices/scrimmages when they are solidified as a starter
 
Doesnt concern me at all. it was one practice. Grove has been consitantly dominant all of camp thus far. One thing to keep in mind, Grove said eatrlier in the offseason he has never seen such a difficult conditioning program. Ferg has been doin it Parcells way for years. This is Grove first offseason like this. A week and a half into 2 a days, Im sure he's getting tired.
 
only thing I worry about is him getting through the season healthy. Grove is tough, talented, and strong, but he's had the injury bug in his career.
 
From what I've heard, Grove seems to be doing just fine.

Also keep in mind, Grove is known more for his run blocking than his pass protection.

A little adversity can sometimes be a good thing.......
 
Maybe im crazy, but I see Fergeson as a top shelf NT. Top 10 more than likely. Besides, interior linemen play a violent position, if you are throwing it all out there in training camp, you are more often than not going to get hurt. Grove is somewhat new to this conditioning program. I would not read too far into it at this point.
 
You also have to take into account that Grove is considered NASTY. Its hard to act that way against your teammates. Its one thing to wanna rip the Jets players head off, its another to do it to a guy thats on your team. I'm going to reserve judgement on this until I see him in a game getting beat.
 
I am not worried Grove has not missed a practice as far as i know and Fergie has taken some days off so being fresher and not as worn down as Grove may play into that some.

Grove is a big strong guy he will be fine when its a Jag in front of him on the 17th
 
Honestly, I'd be far more worried if I didn't eventually read about Grove getting owned at least one day. My first worry would be if Fergie has lost a step. My second worry would be if Grove is really being tested.
