I have to give JT a ton of credit for how well he did on DWTS. He did something that he has never done before in front of millions of people each week and still finished 2nd behind a figure skater that has done routines to music her entire life. To me JT showed some courage doing what he did, and I know some of you will continue to bash him, but I encourage you to conquer something that you have never done before in front of millions of people weekly and then have everyone question you and the type of person you are.

JT put his whole heart into this competition just like he does into football, so what makes you think that he won't continue to do so? Remember it's the OFFseason and the workouts he is missing is VOLUNTARY. He's a proven pro bowler and let's not forget that he won "Football's Man of the Year" last season so he I believe he has his priorities straight.

We, as fans, should have nothing but respect for this guy. Two NFL awards two years in a row (defensive player of the year two years ago). Not a troublemaker and JT goes about his business and doesn't seek media attention in the ways Terrell Owens or players like him do. And have we ever had any trouble with him complaining that he's not the highest paid DE in the league. NO. He's a class act and should go down in history as one of the best dolphins of all time, On and Off the field.

Whoops...sorry

OK...

1. Jt has been a very good player for us for 11 years...not great, never a real leader but a very good player

2. He always came up small in big games....let me give you playoff numbers as an example 6 games - 17 solo tackles (less than 3 per game), 0 tfl, 0ff, o sacks..pretty pathetic in the big games IMO...

3. BP stats

Games over .500: 42
Super Bowl Wins: 2
Overall Championships: 2
Conference Championships: 3
Division Championships: 8

What has JT ever won......nothing not even DWTS - ha

4. It is OK that he is planning for teh future and even OK that he missed OTAs but to miss minicamp to play with his friends shows he has totally "jumped the shark" and gone Hollywood.

5. He needs to get back to Miami and start to learn how to be a real leader adn a winner from someone who has been there before.

6. This team has historically bad on 07. JT need to step up and be part of the solution in bringing us back to respectability and our old winning ways not part of the problem.

7. He needs to get his pririties straightend out and focus on his real career now and go be Mr. Hollywood when we fans are no longer paying hin $7.5 MM a year...

Oh...so what I was trying to say is that I totally disgree with the title of this thread...for the reasons given above...

J.T. was very bold for doing what he did. You know there will be at least some good fun poking him about this from his team mates. It is unfortunate that so many have used this as a B*t*hing contest about him not being in Miami for these VOLUNTARY work outs. It seems he truly enjoyed himself, made some hopefully lasting friendships, and got his name and face out there for something other then football. J.T. has been an outstanding embassador for the NFL. He is an example of a player who puts 100% into what ever he does, especially football, and not out getting into trouble but helping his community. I wonder how many people would complain if he was doing something for his charity and missing these VOLUNTARY work outs. Maybe they are upset that he is dancing and not something "MANLY". Just amazes me how much negative reaction this got from "fans". Many veterans miss these OTA's and such so this is nothing new.

Dolphns13 I am with you and totally soick of this which is why I felt like I had to say something...now I can go back to ready all teh decent threads that have nothing to do with Mr Glitter...

BOLD ?? Dancing ?? bold would have been if he had gone to Burma or China and missed OTAs to do something of value for the world. Dancing on TV and letting your team down is a ***** move not bold...

The Jason Taylor foundation does many many things of value for his community. He was bold for trying something he has never done and doing it in front of thousands of people where all his mistakes would be very visable. It seems that, to me, people are upset that he was doing something that is generally labeled as a whimpy almost as much as they are that he is missing VOLUNTARY WORKOUTS. Would you have been more happy if he were missing the OTA's due to beating up a bunch of people in a bar or any other "manly" thing, and put into jail?

In what way has he let his team down? Have you talked to the players?

I can't imgaine why on earth he would he do something that he would enjoy and possibly be beneficial to him and his family in the long run during his OFFseason.

Also incase you missed in my original post he did win "Man of the Year" for his contributions on and off the field.
