I have not posted about the dolphins much this season mainly because I have preferred to focus on other things but its good to finally see our team make the playoffs.
Adam Gase has by far suprised me with how he has seemed to energize this team and while I still have many reservations about much of the front office and our Dc it feels damn good to finally have a winning season much less a playoff team.
I hope we build on this season and dont let one season determine our future. Congrats Dolphins.

:chuckle: I was starting to wonder if you were ever gonna wander out of the PoFo again.

This year politics has been more important to me and after the Ross era I have had less joy in talking dolphins football this year. I didnt want to all of sudden start posting because we were winning. Early in the year I kind of decided to take someowhat of a sabbatical from the dolphins board. In some ways I must admit some of my interest in sports has waned this year. Between the recent Reds and Dolphins struggles it hasnt been fun lol. The celtics reviving has been somewhat of a pleasure and the bruins may get it together.
Im currently number 2 on the hiring list for police department and my military time offically ends in a few weeks . I was asked to hang in there to compensate for the loss of many experienced personnel and am glad ole Trumpy will never be my commander and chief lol.
Arguing politics has interested me quite a bit more this season and being an election year I found it more relevant. I regret I was not able to enjoy this long overdue playoff season more and truly wish Tannehill was not lost for season.

Not gonna lie, when Dion Jordan was being rumored to return towards the end of the season (time to activate him or lose him was coming up) and you didn't post one time in that thread . . . . I legit started to get worried about your situation.

Most Controversial . . . Debbie Downer . . . yadda yadda we know you are a big time Fins fan. Glad all is well.

Speaking on worthless people like Dion Jordan lost its luster lol Thanks though.

Welcome back. Always good to see familiar faces (names) around the forum.

Crazy we've managed 10 wins this year with our train wreck of a defense.

There has been much crazy about his year. The most concerning thing that makes the playoff run very suspect is only one win against a team with a winning record.
Our record vs teams above .500 is 1-4. Our schedule turned out to be much softer than we suspected. Very seldom do teams win 10 games while only beating one team that has a winning record.
This season could very well be a mirage but I will take the playoffs over our usual. The good news is the one team we beat with a winning record is Pittsburgh, the bad news is that Pittsburgh has won 6 staight and has only lost at home to maybe the two best teams in the league the Patriots and the Cowboys.

Welcome back. I thought you were a poster who only posts when things were bad. This proves me wrong. GO FINS!!

Curious, why allegiance to Boston teams? I'm also a mild Celtic, bruins and Sox fan but I live here. The next 3 months are miserable in NE, cold, cold, cold.

Same here. Even if the Dolphins won the Super Bowl I don't think I would care very much. It's the first time I've lowered my opinion of the species as a block.

As James Carville emphasizes, people are going to die. It won't be highly publicized or all at once, but 2% of 20 million is 400,000 people. That's not an unrealistic estimate when losing health insurance is at issue. I've seen higher estimates.

Anyway, the standout aspect of the 2016 Dolphins is tackle breaking. I've watched the franchise basically since the beginning and this version has greater ferocity and refusal to go down on moderate contact than any group I remember. In the Buffalo game last week Dion Sims caught a short pass well shy of the marker on third down. There were defenders everywhere. But I was certain he would bully through them. And he did. Wonderfully contagious. I posted early in the season that no team had a duo like Landry and Ajayi in terms of difficulty to bring them down.

Still, it's not a particularly impressive group of athletes and we overachieved to such absurdity in tight games this season that a regression in 2017 is very logical. The only thing that could prevent it is if Gase is a rare superior head coach.

I know exactly the play you're talking about involving Sims because I instantly thougt about your post talking about Ajayi and Landry being hard to bring down when it happened...
