I lived in Miami for years and years, was born in Atlanta, moved back and forth my entire life. Atlanta is my team, the Dolphins are my dad's team and my AFC team. This has been the greatest turnaround ever for my teams. The Dog Killer and Petrino tried to bury the franchise and Coach Smith and Matty Ice have made us viable again. Anyway, i love Chad Pennington, he is awesome, but i was just wondering... if yall could redo the draft, would you want to pick Matt Ryan? Chad is the man, but Matty has many more years left than Chad. just curious what you guys think.. Anyway. Go FINS!! Go Falcons!!!

I was just thinking about that the other day. Knowing what we know now about both players, I think the only thing that would make me want to pass on Matt Ryan is knowing we got Chad Henne. Do I think he'll be as good as Ryan? No. But I think he'll be a good QB and Long has proven to be a Pro Bowl caliber LT (after all the draftniks had him as a RT at best).

I'm happy having Pennington for a few more years anyway. I think both your team and our's show just how important it is to have a good QB as the leader.

I'd be nice to see you guys in Tampa.

No, I would still take Long. Ryan (or any QB) wouldn't look so good if they keep getting blind sided.

Yeah, I say take Long, he has proven he is going to be an anchor on the line in the most crucial position for a very long time (barring major injuries). I've seen too many years with Miami seeking a legitimate LT to give the QB some real time. Of course the OL isn;t the most sexiest position like a young star QB emits, but I have to go with Parcell's method of building from within, and it has worked.

Plus, Henne looks like a real solid QB for the future based on things heard about him and his brief time in the AZ game.

We got a steal in Chad Henne at the bottom of the 2nd. Will he be as good as ryan? he has the potiental and hes showed it during the AZ game and pre-season. Without Long Pennington would have another shoulder surgery and R&R's running game would drop.

I wouldnt change a thing. I think Henne is getting the best mentor he could possibly have under Pennington. Not only the science of the game but how to be a great team mate and great leader. Our future is bright at QB and we have a career left tackle. Nope wouldnt do it.

I would only of taken Ryan If I thought there was a good left tackle that would still be available on our next pick. I have mixed feelings because I dont think in the short term that Ryan would have the impact that Pennington has had. Pennington has not just been playing well but he has also been teaching our offense how to be a complete unit. If we had taken Ryan I think he would of been on the bench this season but our long term need for a QB would be secured. It is a tough call to make. If Ryan turns out to be a HOF QB and Long turns out to be a HOF LT I think I would rather of taken Ryan. Hindsight is 20/20 though. We got value out of our 1st rd pick. I have no regrets, but yes long term it may turn out it would of been better if we took Ryan instead.

Matt Ryan wouldn't be havin the same season here in miami, and wouldn't of fit in as well as pennington. Matt Ryan is a great qb though and will be great for years to come.

I don't think Matt would have been the guy here like he is in Atlanta. With our set of circumstances, Chad was exactly the type of guy that we needed to lead this team. Now, Matt might have been good in a few years for us, but in regards to our turnaround this year, I just can't imagine that anybody but Pennington could have done it. The thing with him is that not only has he improved our offense, but his style has dictated our strategy of holding the ball most of the game, leading long methodical drives. It has allowed us to mask weaknesses on both sides of the ball, as our defense has to be on the field less and doesn't run as much risk of getting exposed.

Id still take Long cause of Henne but ill admit I bashed Ryan pre-draft but he looks like a future balling FRANCHISE Qb...Who knows what the ceiling is for Henne so far hes got the physical part down lets hope he learns the work ethic and study habits of Pennington
