Just randomly thought of it. Not sure if there is any truth to it, but it does make sense and seem like something this new regime would do. So the release of Keith Davis struck some people as being a little bit surprising.

Now, WHAT IF Jeff Ireland and Bill Parcells had a hunch that their boy Jerry Jones would jump at the chance to resign the special teams ace, forcing him to (most likely) cut a younger player that they may desire. And sure enough, today, the Cowboys release CB Evan Oglesby to make room for Davis.

Just something that occurred to me. Not saying that Oglesby is the guy we wanted, though he very well could have been. Just saying, knowing that Jerry knew that the Miami brass would be poachers, resulting in him keeping a number of backups at two of our weakest positions depth-wise (DB and OL), this move may have allowed Miami the chance to pickup one more Dallas cast-off that may otherwise have not been available.

Man, your more creative than I am. If we sign this guy, will you give me some lotto numbers?

First off keep in mind Hill and Crocker made more plays than him in camp and preseason, and these guys are extremely performance-based.

Second, the papers had a story just before Davis was released about a verbal spat that Davis and Parcells got into during practice...where Davis started getting things off his chest to Parcells about his treatment down there. After the argument, Davis thought that he and Bill were better off for it, because Parcells gave him an earful from his perspective, and Davis gave Parcells an earful from his, and he thought Parcells came away with more respect for Davis.

Wrong. Snip, snip, snip.

Pretty deep thinking here and Ireland gets paid pretty big bucks to do this so hopefully he is a step ahead of the other teams for the Dolphins sake.
Just remember every team has a Jeff Ireland working for them so hopefully our guy is smarter than their guy!

But some teams have a "Randy Mueller."

 Never heard that one.

I like my theory better.

I didn't know that, either, but Davis's agent fell all over himself saying it was a business decision. It seemed there was more to it than what was initially reported, and now we know there was.

When BP is concerned, it's more important to be a good soldier than a good mercenary.

That spat was TWO YEARS AGO.

From Sportsline but originally from the Sun-Sentinel

It had been a while since Keith Davis' girlfriend had seen him smile so big.

So why was he so giddy on that 2006 evening?

"You'll never believe what happened today," he told her.

What happened was that Davis, then in his second stint as a Dallas Cowboy, had finally let his frosty feelings fly. Davis let them fly at his coach, Bill Parcells, on the practice field, in the presence of teammates, at great employment risk.

"Oh man, Bill and I had some choice words for each other," Davis recalled after a recent Dolphins practice. "We just got in a situation where the frustration just got so much, I just got so much frustration in my head, I was like, 'Man, I just got to let it loose, I can't take it anymore.' And once I did that, I felt better, I felt much better."

CK ive seen wat ur talking about in the sun sentinel but it was him being cut from the cowboys wen it happened not the Dolphins

Achem. The Dolphins signed a safety today, and released a corner. That leaves five safeties and four corners.

There goes the theory about 'not enough room' for Keith. That, AND, IMO, Jason Allen is going back to corner. Round and round the merry-go-round goes Jason Allen's search for a position on this team.
