That , linebacker and OT either in the draft or by a free agent pick up. There's other holes but those are must haves.

Good info SOS

The two most important factors in a game is points for and points allowed. The defense allowed 24.3 points a game, which is 14th worst. The offense had 19.4 points a game, good enough for 27th in the league. The oline is far beyond the biggest need, without any doubt.

So even though the defense need to improve, drastically. It's nowhere near as bad as the offense/oline.

Saying that, I do think Miami needs to address the oline in FA and draft defense.

I'm with you here as I am a firm believer in the trenches. If they're lacking nothing else matters, IMO. Not that I consider other positions a luxury or less important but if you can't win at the LOS the skill positions on offense or the back 7 on defense are usually rendered useless or at the least are not able to impact the game in the manner they should.

That said, acquiring true playmakers and difference makers is essential, especially early in the draft process. That's where I see the upmost importance for players such as Hargreaves, Ramsey, and others as I believe you can find competent lineman further down line, or in FA, that can be solid players that will hold their ground provided we can offer adept coaching.

Who is Eric Frostbutter? He has no journalism credits.

In any case, I'd take Myles Jack over any DB in the draft not named Jalen Ramsey.

So basically he told you the cupboards pretty bare at corner...well thanks for that

Its bare a lot of places

The #1 priority is OL, because that is the position that directly effects Ryan Tannehill the most. Gotta get an accurate read on 17, and that means suring up one of the guard spots in free agency, spending relatively big if you must, and then also getting that swing tackle/guard from either free agency or early in the draft (if its round 1, you are looking at a future LT who can play some guard early and then take over for Brandon in a year or so). After 2016 you have to know where you stand with Ryan.

But no question CB is the position that looks the "barest" out the group. Brent is a good CB, I think people take his struggles against Sammy and Bmarsh as an indictment of him no longer being a good player . . . He is a good player, who always played above his stature but as he grows older he will struggle against those big playmaker types. Question is do you want to deal with the baggage that his wife brings? It is a legit concern Miami will have to make a decision on.

2013 really hurt this team at CB. We have a bunch of nickel guys and a WR convert in the cupboard . . . Not good.

So many holes on defense, no argument starting there

What cap money we do have I would spend on some good youngish guards and a decent corner.

Then in the draft a corner round 1, MLB round 2 (or vice versa deepening on who is left) and some D line depth round 3.

If we get Grimes back cheaper, a mid level free agent (maybe Adam Jones), a high pick at corner and a high pick at MLB maybe we can actually be half decent on D.

They were talking about us at #8 on NFL radio last night. There are a few good MLB and Versatile Tackles that will be Guards in the NFL, but all will be reaches at 8. But there is a lot of really good CB's in this draft that will be sitting there waiting for us when we pick assuming we dont trade down. The mention guys from Florida and Florida State. (I dont watch a lot of college football so I dont know much about either yet)
