I've never posted a rumor before, and don't expect to again, but through someone that's tuned into the Giants, I've heard that during the season Coughlin's agent did meet with Ross specifically to talk about the Dolphins HC job, more at the agent's initiative.

It's probably not all that earth shattering, except as an indication that Coughlin would be interested in the Dolphins job if offered.

Does Coughlin really want to continue coaching? Won't he be 70 before the start of next season? I can't imagine him wanting to start a reclamation project in Miami at that age... He must be worn out after so many years coaching. At the very least, he should take a little hiatus.

He's a good coach so I don't have a problem with him in terms of that. I just question his age. He can still coach at 70, but does he want to? I don't want a coach who could retire at any time.

Well thanks the tidbit. I'm not excited about Coughlin at this point but that could change if other options disappear.

He's 68 and there is talk that he'll entertain offers. He did say he was stepping down not retiring FWIW.

Google has his age at 69 with a birthday in August...

Wikipedia says he was born in 1946.

Bring him in with Campbell on staff to right the ship.

If I'm taking someone old its Coughlin. Granted he still wants to do this and is willing to work with TannenBum. Doubt it though.

Coughlin strikes me as one who enjoys working. I think he coaches again in 2016...hopefully in Miami.
Again, he brings a vast network of assistants and NFL contacts with him.
Having him here for a few years will right the ship.

If the plan is just to have him for a couple of years to the right the ship I'm for it as long we have a plan for the future. Maybe Campbell can work under him.

he wants to coach, don't believe the charade of him resigning. he was fired. this is just PR to help maintain the "class" of the Giants myth. he wants to coach again this year.
