As the strange contracts negotiations between the Chargers and Joey Bosa have yet to get resolved, I'm left wondering if San Diego might consider a trade?

If so, Miami would seem like a possible trade partner. The Dolphins have connections with John Bosa playing for the team in the 1980's, plus a need for a potential young star at the position. Most would speculate that Miami will pick a pass rusher early in next years' draft with Cam Wake and Mario Williams both on the wrong side of 30.

The Chargers might be tempted by the fact that Bosa has missed training camp and pre-season, the chance to get multiple draft picks and set-up for a 2017 draft that looks good for pass rushers.

On the downside for Miami, the team may not be in the best position to trade future picks as a young team that is building. Then again, Bosa looks like a potential star at a premium position. Thoughts?

nope, in order to trade him he had to be signed by August 7th or 8th.

No. The guy is holding out over freaking language in the deal. Seems a bit dumb to me.

Not interested.

Unless I'm mistaken, he's holding out over the exact same thing that Tannehill originally held out over for about a week, and Aponte said, "Let him enter next year's draft, then." Offset language.

I believe the Chargers, despite all of their offers, are still insisting Bosa accept offset language in his contract that no 3rd overall selection has ever had to agree to before. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

From what I gather he could re enter next years draft if he doesn't sign, right? I don't see the upside of that but just curious...

Another lesson in the risks of drafting a player coached by Urban Meyer.

I hope he does not sign and that we draft him next year with a mid round pick. Unrealistic? Maybe but at this point we need as many miracles as we can get to be relevant again.

from what I heard 28 out of 32 players selected in the 1st round have similar language in there contracts. my kids went to school with him and say he's as dumb as a box of rocks.

There is a point in every contract negotiation where you ask yourself "is it worth it?" A smart person at this point would recognize they are negotiating against a billionaire who will live just fine without him and that the longer he goes the millionaires in the locker room will care even less about him. Time to sign and play kiddo. Don't want that crap mentality in Miami even if we could trade for him.

The chargers are cheapskates and asking him to accept something nobody else drafted in his position has accepted. With how disposable these players are to the owners I side with Bosa on this. Also you would be nuts not to want him on the Dolphins. A premier talent on the DL is always needed and this team has a major shortage of premier talent.

That's why the Chargers will give in. They are trying to do something that will in turn change the precedent with future rookie contracts. Just don't see it happening.
