Say NO'er to Henry. Pay a running back a boatload of money for what?If we get Henry it would be a waist to also draft a rb that hi.
Oh and just say NO to Herbert

Apollo Creed is a chump and a jive turkey.
Herbert's situation is a result of a love affair between Tua and his rabid fanbase. He's still an elite college QB who has as much potential as any QB coming out, but again...if you aren't willing to get your knees dirty praying to the shrine of Tua.Herbert would have been the 2nd qb taken last year in the draft....I'm not sure why he's fallen from graces, but it is probably because of the PAC10 curse: no one stays awake for his games on the east coast. Same reason why most PAC10 players are underrated.
A guy that can get you the 2 yards you need anytime?Say NO'er to Henry. Pay a running back a boatload of money for what?
The knock on Herbert is he doesn't read the D that well, and is not careful with the ball? Too many TO's. We may already have one of those. I know hearing the word dominant can cause a few snickers around here, or worse yet images of the New England Patriots. But with cash to spend and draft picks galore, can the Miami Dolphins get there in one offseason, at least on one side of the ball? I'm a defensive first guy, but I think the most work needs to be done on the offensive side, especially when you consider Miami most likely has a new quarterback in 2020. And, most likely, a high draft pick at the position.
So, for the sake of discussion here are some thoughts on how to get in done on offense with the concentration of draft picks and free agent dollars going there.
Free agency --- big three adds --- Brandon Scherff, OG/OT, Derrick Henry RB, Joe Thuney, OG.
Draft (first two rounds)
1. Justin Herbert, QB
1. Henry Ruggs III, Wr
1. Creed Humphrey, C
2. Travis Etienne, RB
2. Trey Adams, OT
Offensive line: Adams, LT, Deiter, LG, Humphrey C, Thuney OG, Scherff, RT (Davis, Calhoun, Boehm, Prince top backups)
Quarterbacks: Herbert, Fitzpatrick, Rosen
Running Backs: Henry, Etienne, Laird, Cox, Gaskins
Wide Receivers: Parker, Williams, Ruggs, Grant, Hurd
Tight Ends: Gesicki, Smythe, Walford
Thoughts, other ideas. Would welcome discussion on defense as well.
Too many turnovers? Reality begs to differ on that. TD/INT ratio is pretty good, comparatively speaking.A guy that can get you the 2 yards you need anytime?

I agree. I think the emphasis should be on the most crucial positions - quarterback, pass rusher, corner, blindside protector, wide receiver. But, I just wanted to see how good one unit could be if the majority of the resources were used there. I do think the offense needs more work than the defense.Too general. I think most fans agree the needs are OL and edge, While interior DL isn't top 5, it's less of a need than edge and needs must be prioritized. Secondly, the goal this coming off-season shouldn't be making one side "dominant," but making booth sides respectable. Better than that is always good, but edge and OL are abysmal.
I do have some reservations on Herbert. But I think things have changed for Miami with the uncertainty of Tua. Maybe they sign Bridgewater or trade for a quarterback. I think most likely they look at Burrow or Herbert. Maybe this is finally the coaching staff that can actually develop a quarterback. Herbert is loaded with physical talent.Herbert can go fly a kite some ****ing where else.
The Dolphins need to find a receiver or running back (or both) that can keep defenses up at night. I think Ruggs III could be that with his speed. Paired with Parker and Williams that could be a good combo.I like the idea of finding an identity.
But
No to Herbert. He’s not the prospect some think he is.
No to Ruggs. Least important position in football.
So no.
I like Harris on Alabama as well. That would be an excellent third rounder. Hard to evaluate Deiter with all the problems on the offensive line.I'd lay odds that Washington franchises Scherff. Conklin is a good second choice if we can get a RG worth his salt next to him.
Creed I liked him a lot. Then I saw him getting MANHANDLED 1v1 with the NT on Baylor. Biadasz for me. Snatch up the RB from Bama of he can last to the 3rd round.
I'm not a Deiter fan...especially if Kindley from GA is there in the 2nd.
Biadasz, Kindley, Conklin is a good base for a physical oline.
I could definitely see a scenario where it's mostly defense. Perhaps Miami goes heavy on offense in free agency and then defense in the draft. I think it would be hard for Flores to pass up Young, unless Tua has shown close to a full recovery.I also agree with getting the best player available. If we were to address one side of our team I think it would be the defense. Our coach is a defensive guy, who probably would want to develop his defense first.
Herbert definitely not getting a lot of love here. Who would be your preference at quarterback now that Tua has some major questions? If we get Henry it would be a waist to also draft a rb that hi.
Oh and just say NO to Herbert
