Could Hickey Replace Half The Team?

We have 16 FA's in Grimes, Starks, Soliai, Clemons, and Carroll. Cog, Jerry, Clabo, McKennie, and Keller. Owens, Stanford, Yeatman (R), Spitler, Watkins (R), and Marlon Moore. Then, we have a few exclusive rights guys like Devlin Add in a few guys like Martin, DT, and others who were on special teams, who fans dont care about, and we're at half or more of the roster.

I'm wondering if Hickey is going to want to put his imprint on the team from day1, and let most everyone, or even everyone, walk and test FA.

I know that many want to keep a few like Grimes, Soliai, Clemons, etc but a case could be made for None of the above because of age and money. Our special teams were also horrible for the first time in 3-4 years, and have to be re-built. It SUCKS that more than half the team really does not matter when we include our reserves.

Opinions on Hickey doing this?
 
Piece of cake. Hopefully he starts at home and goes from there.
 
I'm sure there will be changes but last year we didn't resign a couple good players and It showed. The emphasis should always be on resigning your good players like Grimes for example.
You know what you have and you are not hoping a free agent or draft pick works out.

True but, you have to consider age, money, and the ability of our team to contend. IF we believe that we cannot contend, what is the point of keeping an older guy, in place of a younger guy who will be here longer and help down the line?

It's a matter of where you think the team is.
 
Just get Byrd and our d is elite.

Don't need to waste money on Solai due to his play limitations, Starks is better for the defense Miami runs and is a better player. Clemons can stay on a smaller deal and compete with Jones..Grimes is a must.

Everything else can fall into place.
 
I like Byrd, need a playmaker like him to strike fear in receivers.
 
I'd try to keep Grimes, Carroll and Clemons. Many of the O-line should not be re-signed. Yes, that includes Richie Incognito and John Jerry.

Ya know, special team likely cost us a game or so last year after playing so well over the past few years. Our FA shopping spree forgot about these guys, and I am hoping that Hickey takes care of this. Casual fans don't care but, it is important.
