The last thing I want to do in jinx it, but after a draft that went heavy on offense could Miami actually be an above average team on that side of the ball? It's been a long time since this offense has been anything but mediocre or less, maybe back to 2008 when the wildcat and Chad Pennington lifted the team to its last playoff berth.

Anyway, with the addition of Tunsil the offensive line looks really good with three above average starters in Albert, Pouncey and hopefully Tunsil. James is pretty solid with the only hole being at right guard with a camp battle likely between Turner and Douglas. Lots of athletic movers on the line, which looks much better in pass protection than run blocking.

At wide receiver this unit had top 10 potential prior to the draft. Landry is already one of the best receivers in the NFL and I believe Parker has superstar potential. Stills was somewhat disappointing last year so maybe that's where the Carroo pick makes sense. His play style resembles Landry's and if he turns out similarly nobody will even remember or care what the Dolphins gave up to get him. Grant may be the wildcard of this group with speed to kill and kick return ability.

The tight end position looks a bit thin on paper unless Cameron can lift his game under Gase, which is certainly a possibility. Sims is a decent #2 and there figures to be a camp battle for that last spot with Duarte a possibility.

After watching more tape on Grant I believe he may be the teams' starter at running back, or at least get the most playing time. This guy is ultra explosive, catches like a wide receiver and also has return value. I like Ajayi and he will certainly play a big role as well. The running game is still the biggest question mark to this offense taking that next big step.

At quarterback, I've been a firm believer that Tannehill needed more talent on the offensive line. I can't wait to see what he can do if this unit stays healthy and performs to its talent level. It's a make or break year for Ryan, but I don't think he needs to be an elite quarterback for this team to do well.

The addition of Gase has to be mentioned as well. It's interesting that every other team in the division has a defensive minded coach with Gase bringing in expertise on the offensive side. Miami needs someone who can match wits with Bellicheck. Do the Dolphins now have the pieces to do that?

I think they can, but honestly who the hell knows. Even Gase has said that it could be slow going at first because we will be limited by how much EVERYBODY understands the offense. I do like that he will try to adjust our game plan each week so we won't be as predictable. Lots to be excited about, but I think we need to stay patient.

I wanted a defensive draft, but I believe the offense-centric philosophy for this draft could pay huge dividends.
The defense was on the field way too much, and I think that played a major role in why they were as bad as they were. Gase needs to get the offense electric and functional again, and I think this draft at least serves to push towards that goal.

I agree it would be beneficial for our D to stay off the field more often; no doubt. Some of the guys still need to play much better regardless, or be replaced. I think Alonso, Maxwell, and maybe Howard have a chance to help us improve some too. Here's hoping.

Hope so. The D is gunna allow 30 points per game

I don't think there is a question the coaching should be better and the line certainly should be too. Just given that we should move up quite a bit. Lets hope the added skill players pan out and add something too. If we are better in short yardage firsts and goal line (running the ball) I'd expect to be much better.

As Beach Bum pointed out, I would think it may take a few weeks to get things going.

The offense has gotten so good, that the QB has now become the bottleneck/weak link in the offense.

I am concerned about the defensive side. I would have gone heavy on defense, but that's not to say I think the draft was bad. I understand getting weapons on offense and Tunsil made a ton of sense.

Certainly not if he reverts back to 2014 form where he was ranked the 11th best QB in the league by PFF. Hopefully like closing out that season he won't get gunshy or lose confidence by being sacked 18 times in the last 4 games. And if he reverts back to form, he'll be one of the stronger links again.

Hopefully this year will be his best ever. We'll see.

Can we stop the Jets and Bills running game along with getting pressure on Brady? That is the key to the division, and our season.
If we can go 5-1 in the division like we used to under Shula, we can make the playoffs every year.
