Mike Leach just got fired by Texas Tech and now will be looking for a job. The offensive coordinator position here in Miami may be opening up here in less then a week.

Mike Leach is eccentric, but he does produce good offenses. The only drawback is that his way of thinking is to have more of a potent passing attack then running attack, which probably doesn't fit into the Parcells and Sparano frame of mind. Though with Chad Henne, you add a #1 receiver, this could be a offense Mike Leach could thrive in.

Thoughts?

I don't believe his wide open attack will fit with TS's conservativeness. Obviously we don't know the whole story with Leach, but I smell a rat out of that and think its far from over.

NO...You can't run out of the shotgun with a empty backfield and no tightend
all the time in the NFL.

If we get a New coordiantor I want Charlie Weiss...

He could def build on what we have...Plus he is a really great play caller...

He wont call Play action on 3rd and 15 ....Lol

I like the screens he used as well..

We have tried with our WR screens and we fail to execute them very well...

Leach will stay in college tho unless there are some things we dont know about he treated this kid

Not at a major college..There were reasons he was at Texas Tech.

Yea he was at Texas Tech cause he was a coordinator at Oklahoma..and did a very good job for them...

There offense is damn good...Plus think of the schools he has to compete with for recruites..

He will def get a good college job...

Kanas comes to mind i think they have an opening..

Maybe even a big ten school... Alot of schools are moving to these systems cause kids wanna play in them...They use alot of different players and can really rack up stats

I like the weiss idea. Leach will not become a coordinator. He will be a head coach/ Texas Tech will be plummeting back to earth soon.

Probably not.

If--and yes, it's still if--we get a new offensive coordinator, the odds are we'll promote from within. Karl Dorrell and David Lee are the two obvious candidates. The nod will probably go to Dorrell, as Chad Henne will probably rely heavily on David Lee throughout the offseason, and it'll be tough for Lee to help Henne grow if he has to manage the entire offense. This also gives us a chance to bring in another WR coach.

Exactly what about Charlie Weis makes people think he's somehow an offensive genius who can turn things around? He flopped at Notre Dame and had a crutch called Tom Brady to rely on while in New England.

No..Kansas doesn't have a opening..plus Kansas fired a good coach for less than what Leach did.
Plus I don't consider Kansas a Big time football job ,same as Tech.
Auburn interviewed Leach last year and said "no thanks" you are a idiot"
Leach is VERY weird and difficult to work with...most AD's and presidents know
this..hence why he was at Tech.

took the words right out of my mouth...or keyboard. He got the same reaction in his interview with Miami.

I doubt Lee will ever be an OC in the NFL. Seems like they would have named him already instead of Henning if they had faith he could do it.
