We all know about R&R and they have done a great job so far combining for..

1042 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns & 315 yards receiving

But...

I have seen Patrick Cobbs beginning to play a more prominent role in the offense. He can catch (Houston game) and he can get some tough yards running and seems to work well between the tackles.

So here is the question do you see our backfield becoming a three headed monster much like the Giants have?

I actually would like to see Cobbs returning punts instead of Bess.. Cobbs is quick and fast like Bess, but Cobbs has power, which Bess doesnt have. IMO Bess is a horrible punt returner (although Ginn is starting to get some returns on punts too)

I think we had a formation where we had all 3 lined up in the backfield today..at least it appeared that way to me.

Not a bad idea though...all 3 have shown they're capable of playing the position well.

IIRC, Cobbs is the ST captain as well.

Cobbs was so open on that wildcat qb pass play that even Randy McMichael/John Madden/the chinese guy who always wins the national hotdog eating contest/stephen hawking could have scored on that play

I didnt know that until they said it during the game when Cobbs came flying down the field and dropped Miller like he was a fly on the wall... That was one of the best openfield tackles I have seen in a long time.

It already has. On the subject of Cobbs though, I would really like to see Coach Sparano give him first shot at Ricky Williams spot whenever he finally does call it a career. Cobbs has shown a lot of heart and determination this season and I think he has earned at least a chance to fill Ricky's spot.

i dont think cobbs would fit well in the ricky role, he doesnt have the necessary speed. but what cobbs does do exceptionally well is block. we have really been using him well as a lead blocker, he could be a great fb/hb/rb hybrid. i dont really ever see him getting more than 10 carries/game, but he is the type of player who makes everyone around him better. if you view the tape of just about any of our big gain wildcat plays, cobbs is making the critical block that allowed ronniie or ricky to hit the next level. i love this guy, and im certain the trifecta feels the same way. they did just give him a contract extension.

its great that he has emerged, i just wish he would have done it a little sooner this way we wouldn't have drafted parmele and hillard in april

he has sure hands as well (besides that wildcat pass)... you'll see him going in motion to the outside once in a while and its a guarantee 5-7 yard gain everytime. He's a do-it-all type guy that plays with a lot of heart
